After previous seasons, the consensus is that 40 points would be a fair approximation of what's needed to stay up.

With the top teams taking a bigger share than average (based on their comparative league positions), do you think it will be lower this season?

The general opinion on the Norwich board is about 35 or 36 for the reason you have stated.

I think whatever the league looks like, we should be going for 40 points. It's easy to say, but we shouldn't even be looking at the league standings until we are nearing 40 points

Hey the way our boys are conducting themselves the Europe league may be not such a silly idea with the fair play league hey:):):).

Seriously though we have got to realistically looking at around 40+ with the way we have player so far, we may have a bad patch but it is not conceivable that we will play well all season and just lose to the big guns that would suit me fine

we must aim for 39-40pt mark and we must do it before our last two games. it will be very close down the bottom at the close of the season and i hope we will be safe because if we need points from our last two games to stay up then i cant see it. I'm sure we will be ok well im hoping anyway.....January is the key with what players we bring in...

need to win 9 games of the remaining 26 games. It sounds and looks easy, but all the medium teams will think the same.We have to get confidence and try to win 2-3 games consectively, then i think we have a real good chance.

Totally agree taffy, if we could get them 3 wins in our next stint of games which looking at the games is definitely double then we are right out of the quagmire as not one team from 8th to the bottom have been able to do this at present and are all in the mix, lets keep doing what we have been.and i am confident we will get a string.of wins under our belts. then we look at Europe :):):):):)
