The Evening Post asks a valid question - would we rather have Points on the Board or Games in Hand? http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/BRISTO...points-board/story-20639075-detail/story.html My feeling is when you are at the bottom then points on the board are worth more. Crawley have seven games in hand on us. There are 2 scheduled midweek games left (excluding the Easter weekend pair), which means they have 9 weeks when they play Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday. We have seen the impact on our boys this Saturday when playing the last game of 7 in 21 days - they looked knackered. Thoughts?
CRAWLEY have just the week before the last to rearrange Carlisle as I pointed out last week they are in the s................. I pointed out in another thread the importance of points relative to games in hand and will re iterate here yesterday we gained a point over steve; 4 games ( 12 points ) notts;same games ( - 2pts or 1 win ) played away and crewe 1 g in h ( 3 pts )who played home, Shrews also at home was 0 pt difference,1 g in h ( even if winning game in hand -1 point) these are the results that matter, hypothetically we are 22nd!
A game or two you can possibly ignore but when you get into the realms of a team having 7 games in hand, then I'd fancy Crawley to take more than a couple of points from those games and move above us.
It depends on if they win the first one or two lose them and nerves will kick in. They was awful when we played them even Rovers beat them. So hopefully they are **** plus how many of them are the other teams games in hand? It might be a case them being Stevenage and Shrewsbury Sheff Utd could only benefit us.
Just checked and it is against the three I said. So I hope they win at least three of them. Stevenage games in hand are Crewe Oldham Orient PNE Coventry One of them could be the regular mid week game
crawley before good Friday catch us up with 5 of their games in hand v Swindon v steven v wolves v port vale v Brentford Stevenage v Crewe v crawley vWolves sheff are 5 in hand v glls v colch v peter v Rotherham due to cup v brentford
Looking at the table, we could do ourselves a big favour by winning in Sheffield on Saturday. Unfortunately I cant see it happening. Sheffield Utd are on a high from their Cup exploits, and I can only see them winning comfortably. This will put us right back into the mire, and exchanging places with The Blades. I'm afraid we're in for a bit of a dog-fight
Maybe not but methinks they'll be too good for us on Saturday, especially with our non existant midfield, and we also have a very poor record up there. The only time I can remember getting anything at Bramall Lane was a 1-1 draw in the 2nd leg of the Play Offs quite a few years ago after we'd beaten them 1-0 at The Gate. That was when Play Offs were between different leagues. We were in this division and they were in what's now the Championship
