With the new season upon us, the Olympic football just finished, new signings settling in (at every other club ) and the pre-season warm ups out of the way, what fits the schedule perfectly? Well it's not this ridiculous bunch of games that loads of players will miss due to either being mysteriously left out or picking up a convenient knock. It's like someone sat down with the fixture list and picked out the most irritating and worthless time to have them, just to try and annoy everyone. Am I alone in this or should this have been moved to a time when it'll actually benefit those involved? Any other time at all, frankly.
Always annoying. Even more annoying, for us, is that there'll be another African Cup of Nations this season. Considering how badly it affected Gervinho's performances last season, I'm seriously thinking it's not worth it buying African players anymore, no matter how talented they are. The ACON schedule is ****ed up.
Without doubt the stupidest place for a friendly. The omission of players from a certain club whiffs a bit too. We all know Hodgson is more than a little enamoured with Liverpool still from his Euros squad, yet the only player to make it into his young and experimental squad is Carroll who is unwanted at the club. I'm hoping it's because Hodgson's realised Kelly, Henderson and Downing are **** but I wouldn't be surprised if they go right back in the squad when it suits Liverpool.
I like them...........when no Spurs players are selected. Unfortunately that tool seems to have selected our 1 senior forward, what is the betting he gets injured? They've already crocked Parker, you would've thought we were owed a favour for that
I predict Defoe will get badly injured. ENIC have already screwed us over this season - why don't we add some bad luck into the mix!
Apparently Modric is playing for Croatia midweek. Fine. Brazil calling up Sandro again after the Olympics is a ****ing pisstake though.
He looked solid in the couple of games I saw. The biggest problem we have at the moment is that Jenas, Huddlestone and Carroll are the only midfielders able to prepare for the Newcastle game.
Unfortunately I was meaning centre mids although we do have Bentley and Lennon on the wings. Walcott's just pulled out of the squad...
Honestly I think the FA should grow some balls and stick two fingers up to FIFA by boycotting it. There is no club manager that wouldn't support that
There's a good video of Caulker and Livermore just gone up on the FA site. http://www.thefa.com/video/England/Mens-Seniors/2012/italy/exclusive-livermore-caulker

Caulker still on the bench - hope he stays there although it would be nice to see him get his chance.
Delighted to see Jake play tonight, and well done to all three England Spurs. Still don't want to see JD as sole striker at Toon, but good he's available for St James.
