How about that for a January buy? 26, experienced international. Can play on the wings, and wouldn't demand to start every game either.
His contract situation is similar to van Persie's and he's got a lethal left foot, too. But I think he's too one-dimensional for us and doesn't suit the Arsenal style of play at all. I wouldn't want him here as winger, his defensive play is weak (tracks back less than Arshavin!!) and he's only useful when you are counter attacking. When you play against tight defensive lines he's useless. His club plays more destructive football and he has freedom up front to do anything he wants, playing just off the target-man. For me he was the weakest attacking link in the German team at the World Cup. If we go for a German player, then it should rather be Goetze, Schuerrle (just moved, so unlikely) or Reus. They might not have the excellent finishing abilities, but they add so much more to the game.
