Podolski has said he was never close to leaving Arsenal this summer and this is where he wants to be. He's also said that he is confident he can force his way into the team despite the arrivals of Sanchez, Campbell and Welbeck. I'm pleased he is happy at the club and I really like his attitude, he doesn't let his head drop when he doesn't play and he has a real hard working streak in him. He has become a bit of a fans favourite with his off field personality and rocket left foot but where do you see him fitting into the team this season? He will have heavy competition for the wide left spot with Walcott, Sanchez, oxocube, Campbell, ozil, Cazorla and others all at times fighting for a spot out wide. Is he good enough to become a first team regular? Or will he continue to be a squad player? Personally I can't see him starting week in week out with the depth we now have but I still think he could have an important part to play as an impact player for us this season. Where do you see him fitting into Wengers plans? How would you best utilise him?
You don't see him challenging for a spot in our main starting eleven then? I think he may struggle to get a regular spot given the quality we have out wide, but I do think he will play more often than just our domestic cup games.
Yeah I'd agree with that. It seems he is happy with the role he has at the moment and willing to fight for a spot which is great but I wonder how long that will last if he doesn't brake into the team often. He seems a good guy, as long as he is happy I think he could be a really useful squad player for us.
