I wonder when this was recorded as CR said he had come back from watching someone (maybe Sunday/Monday) who was playing then?

"Podcast with Chris Ramsey" is that a bit like "Out of Town with Jack Hargreaves"?

In today's podcast, Chris tries to mend a usless old footballer using string and traditional cordwainer methods

Jack H once used my late Fathers now illegal fishing method and passed it off as his own
(leaving baited hooks on the beach at low tide between two driven posts)
We used to get a few whiting etc … When Jack used it the crew filmed the tide coming in and out again
    Voila!
8 out of 8 hooks had massive cod on them … yep you guessed it he brought them from the fish market and hooked them on himself

Another icon smashed. I always knew it was Fred Dinenage you could trust on 'How'.

Look at him throwing a pot here, while Hargreaves clearly cheats to get a ship in a bottle.

Good old 'How'. Loved that as a kid. Taught me the very important skill of how to sort out your toilet paper when the perforations become mis-matched between the two layers!!

Who was the scientist chap on How? very deadpan and dry bit like a school teacher.

Always seem to recall Jack Hargreaves had his pipe lite and puffing away....nowadays elf & safety wouldn't allow such things....

What was this thread about originally?

I had a geography teacher who would smoke a pipe, occassionally a cigar and if he was in a bad mood, a *** or two in the classroom.

..and I got hauled across the coals for hijacking a thread!!!!!! :headbang:
Hijacking/going off topic, is a wrap across the knuckles offence apparently. Double standards here it seems.

Anyway, thanks for putting the link up. Interesting listen.:emoticon-0148-yes:

Mea Culpa here Aqua, more of a meandering rather than a hijacking but I take the point. Must admit I didn't listen to the podcast, anything of interest in there?

    Cheers Tram.:emoticon-0148-yes:
Just CR on the Charlie situation.
One of the guys on there called the over reaction of some fans on message boards to the Charlton loss as "infantile", which was spot on.
One guy on there is in Orange Goblin. excellent!
