Going from the begining of November (and Nigel Adkin's last 13 games in charge) that period produced 4 wins, 6 draws and 3 defeats for SFC. Porchettino has now played 6 games and has lost 3 with just 1 win. Now one reason for this slight dip in form might well be me as I've not been able to attend the last couple of games and they've subsequently gone and lost them. But joking aside the honeymoon period for Porchettino is well and truly over, we're in a relegation scrap. Saints next three fixtures are nasty too.
One poor game and this forum flips, glad you lot don't work with Saints or we would never have got a point let alone won a game.
For crying out loud this forum drives me insane at times. One bad performance and some people turn into GMI. Give the man a chance. If we win at Norwich (not unlikely as our performances before the QPR game have been very good) the QPR game will be forgotten.
The same thing is happening under Poch that happened under Adkins, we aren't clinical enough. We are still good enough to avoid relegation imo. Also Adkins didn't just have 12 games in charge did he?, plus look at the teams we have played since Poch has taken over. Apart from the QPR game you could say they are all hard games.
Had we lost 2-1 to Man City and beaten QPR 3-1 then this forum would be perfectly happy with Poch's performances. Why are some fans so fickle?
Agree with this. Saints are good, but seems as if MP has inherited a fairly long standing saints problem, and that is failure to convert possession / shots on target to goals often enough.
Can people read? Of course Poch is under pressure which football manager isn't. Ok it may be implied that the pressure is from cortese as in hes likely to loose his job but clearly everyone knows thats a millions miles away from the truth. The posts just points out that despite some promosing performances under Poch the results aren't quite good enough yet and that needs to improve which is obvious as we need at least 3 more wins from 10 and only have 1 from 6 so far. The only problem with the post is that it's a bit pointless but it's not overly negative like everyone is trying to make out.
I'm not saying it's over negative, i'm saying as soon as we have one bad result we get people over reacting.
True, it may be that we end up in the relegation zone after the next 3 matches. Could well be 0 points against Chelsea and Liverpool and a point away at Norwich. Things are going to get tough down at St Mary's. Only about 10 points needed though, and it makes it more interesting for the end of the season. COYR
Well the book makers generally give a good reflection of what will happen and they're tipping Norwich to beat us and heavily tipping Liverpool.
