    According to Keown, Bale nearly didn't make it as we wouldn't give him a PL contract, and we spent £37m this summer...

    there wasn't much more, probably the most interesting new thing was seeing a close up of cortese's face, he was outside most likely at the training ground but it was hard to tell.

    I'd been looking forward to that interview all morning, and just as the item was coming on there was a knock on the door and a mate turned up unannounced. And it was one of the 99% of friends I have who have zero interest in football, so all I could do was put iPlayer on live and hope he'd go before the 2 hour viewing window passed. He went about 45 minutes ago and I just missed the interview by a whisker. Typical..!
