What ?? More intensity and pressing in CM ?? Players who don't graft for 90 mins to be shown the door come January ?? With Arry and AVB, like them or not, you could see their basic ethos on the pitch. What do we think are the defining traits of how Pochettino wants his teams to play ??
He'll want us to win the ball back quickly and keep the pressure on in attack. None of this settling for "we attack, you attack" like with Sherwood, Pochettino will want us doing the majority of the attacking and breaking down teams through pressure. I'm sure we'll still counter when we can but a team that relies on the counter is easy to stop if you're willing to settle for a point.
"Similar system to avb but saints did it better and with more entertainment" Or perhaps AVB had insufficient time to incorporate the influx of newbies into operating correctly in his regime.
It's easy to say, pressurise the opposition, chase them down and get the ball back as quickly as possible. Firstly, it has to be done in an organised way, or you'll wear yourself out. Secondly, it's pointless if you just give it back again 10-15 secs later - as we normally do. Whether he can do that with the players we currently have, remains to be seen.
We've got plenty of players that could potentially do this, they just need to have the idea instilled from day one. Signing him before the WC is great because it means he can get to work right away on getting the setup he feels comfortable with. It also means that all the players still at the club have a chance to get to work as soon as they return from holiday
"According to Google Translate, Pochettino doesn't mean anything" Does not bode well for next season then.
is that what you said when your board broke the contract they had with your previous manager? I get you're pissed off but the truth is clubs, players and managers only want loyalty when it suits them...hope you lot get another manager ... judging by our record you'll be able to have this one back by late november
what's wrong with my old one? it reflects my Plato like thinking....and my Socratarian depth of knowledge !
I'm looking forward to seeing us play poch's style, however, I'm not looking forward to the high line again. - Especially with Michael "Usain Bolt" Dawson at the back. (I do love Daws by the way, but he's a liability in the high line unfortunately.)
