http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-new-deal-end-Spurs-interest.html#socialLinks I know it's only in the Fail but I hope there is something in this one!
Just the normal timeframe then for contract talks. A story made out of nothing and the fact is Poch still needs to prove himself.
Read their 'what Southampton need to buy' follow up article. Jose Fonte didn't look cut out for the Championship? What nonsense. Whilst I'd love this story to be true, it really does bear all the hallmarks of speculative nonsense to fill a page.
It is a reasonable assumption that Nicola would be looking to extend Mauricio's contract. I would hope this is just a formality and it is done quickly.
To be fair if he did that six games ago he wouldn't have been too far out... (though I think only one result was unreasonable)
What exactly are the parameters that would satisfy you into accepting a manager as being good enough to get your support?
He is on two and a half years, so has only one season left after this season I think. However, it is usual to sign a new contract ahead of time to aid long term planning.
Why not at the end of the season then? There's still a whole year left at that point. Think the fail are just trying to make us look desperate and spurs more interested than they are.
If you want some fun, you need to take a look at Redstripe's previous posts. There aren't many and, bar today, every single one of them is an anti-Cortese post. Monomaniac. Vin
Don't want to worry anyone but :- http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/1...or-contract-talks-with-premier-league-rivals/ I might join RedS if this happens!
Reasonable to assume we are trying to secure Mauricio on a longer contract and reasonable to think that he is a target (though probably not the main target) for Spurs, but we shouldn't jump off the Itchen bridge yet.
Why would Spurs want a Manager that has only got 2 points out of the last fifteen, they will want someone with a perfect record surely?
