I'm just watching back the PMQs and the Labour MP for Sunderland has just begged David Cameron to add Sunderland to the 2012 Olympic torch route.

    <laugh><laugh><laugh>

The fact that they have to ask is funny enough, but it would be even better if their appeal was declined!

I know haha, that's what occurred to me too.

It's nice to know the inhabitants of that wasteland are spending (what little) money they have to fund questions like this.

I'd like it more if Cameron went "Where is Sunderland?" or just laughed for 20 solid minutes

"What could the Prime Minister stay to the people in sunderland"

Why would he stay anything to them?

Also does she really need to make a point of largest? There's only ~7000 population difference between the actual cities/boroughs, take into account the whole conurbations and we're far bigger (~900k to ~300k)

Gateshead has its own council so its not part of Newcastle, just like Cambois isnt part of Blyth, its actually in Wansbeck Council area, never really understood why the power station was called Blyth Power Station though, saying as though it was in Cambois.

PS: Suppose the locals call it North Blyth, so thats probably how it got its name.

it is 4am and i have had a drink, but sorry i still dont get it lol

so tell me, when has it ever been Newcastle, and when/if they become a city in their own right, will they still be part of Newcastle (even though they never have been).

anyway i dont even give a crap, and dont give a ****e about the thread either, never lived in Sunderland, so dont care either way, would be nice for them to get it, but meh, not that bothered.
