Former Barnsley striker Liam Dickinson is rumoured to be a target for Plymouth Argyle. Peter Reid is reportedly interested in bringing Dickinson to the club to bolster his strikeforce. Journeyman Dickinson is seen as a replacement for the departed Rory Fallon and Rory Patterson, who is not expected to return to Home Park. The Northen Ireland international has a contract at the club until June 2012, but has not signed a deed of deferral on his wages. Fellow player Kari Arnason was sacked by the club's administrators when he refused to defer June's wages. Patterson is expected to be dismissed too. The League Two side, currently in administration Argyle, are currently looking at a number of targets who can be brought in within their limited budget. Dickinson, a 6ft 4in striker, is available on a free transfer after his release from Oakwell. The 25-year-old previously played for Derby County after moving to Pride Park from Stockport County in 2008 for £750,000. He has also had loan spells at a host of Football League clubs.
Dickinson for his age has seen a lot of clubs, maybe he's trying to do all 92 clubs before he retires, just like supporters try to visit every league club at sometime. Well if he's taken on the best of luck to him, he should out score Rory Fallon I would think, I'm sure Rory had a be nice to goalkeepers complex.
He looked really rusty and slow when he was with Leeds in 2009. Can't believe he's been at five clubs since then!
Nothing that a squirt of WD40 wont sought out,,,,,,,,,,,could buy him a pair of roller skates to bring him upto speed.
No not Dale Winton, the other orange one. I had a blank senior citizen type moment previously and couldn't think of his christian name but think it is David. He is dodgy so might fit in well here.
We have to trust reidy but I would rather see small nippy strikers who can turn big slow centre backs. Time will tell
Look at it this way, we're short of funds so if we do sign David Dickinson, he'd match the tangerine away strip pretty well so he could play in skins and save the cost of one away shirt.
