Adam Randells's 73rd minute strike, earnt the Pilgrims a replay, and a second trip in as many weeks to enjoy its maritime heritage and coastal pleasures. The two sides lock horns in the league next week, but must first battle it out to see who faces a trip to either Stamford Bridge or Villa Park in round five! New signing Connor Roberts is ineligible, so will have to wait until the weekend when Rotherham are the visitors to Elland Road, to see him in action. Stuart Dallas (leg), Pascal Struijk (groin), Dan James (knee) and Karl Darlow (thumb) are Leeds only injury absentees. please log in to view this image Five games in fifteen days this month, Leeds Manager Daniel Farke must surely want to make changes to the side that beat Bristol City at the weekend. Crysencio Summerville is due a rest, and with James recovering from a knock he took against Preston, Wilfred Gnonto and Jaidon Anthony (the goalscorers from Leeds last two games) are set to deputise. It remains to be seen whether Daniel Farke can afford to rest Welsh duo Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon. Both have been instrumental for the Whites this season, but why risk injury in a Cup game?
Cresswell has to come in for this one and let Rodon have a well earned rest. So Cooper, Byram & Shaks to come in to make up the rest of the back four. Midfield is a little more difficult as all of Kamara, Gray, Ampedu & Gruev all could do with a rest. Up front we need to give Gnonto another full game and then it's Piroe and Anthony. Just wondering if somehow we could drop Piroe even deeper and get Joseph into the team as well ? Either way not fussed and even though looking forward to the match it's no big deal if we go out.
We must rest Gray, Summerville and Rutter at all costs, we can't afford an injury at the back either, a tricky one
I know you're deputising for doc but please don't start the Creswell thing again. Hell play when good enough, same as them all
Why does Gruev need a rest? He's had 17 appearances for us this season and been a sub 9 of those and subbed off once. He's played 7 full games this season. He's good to go tomorrow.
It's possible he might be starting the remaing 16 league games so thought maybe it's a chance to give him a little breather. However we don't seem to have any midfielder in the U21's ready to step up so he'll probably have to play. Obvioulsy we had Gyabi but he's gone out on loan.
Shackleton not trained as ill and so a major doubt for tomorrow night. Farke speaking highly of him though and it looks like we'll be offering him a new contract. Connor Roberts not eligible but will travel with the squad to help with the integration. Some changes for tomorrow but wants to put out a strong side and progress. Also talked about workloads but mentioned virtually no training this week so sometimes better to play and keep the rhythm.
Agreed but then you've got the ones who are not playing who need the extra training but you also don't want to create a them and us situation within the squad. Think Farke manages this by putting the non starters through a fairly rigorous session whilst the rest are having a recovery day after matches. However that won't work as well when everyone is getting back in the middle of the night after a long away trip.
At least Plymouth aren't in contention for the play offs so actually a smart move for once. Plus looking foward to Darko coming back and pushing for a first team squad place next season.
Just don’t see a load of changes. Reckon they might give Klaeson (?) a game. Piroe and Anthony to partner Gnonto up top. Maybe Byram in place of Archie. Other than that, the others will be same as Friday. Think DF will want to win this.
If we play Byram & Firpo isn't that risking leaving us without a left back for Saturday ? Obviously in a league game it wouldn't come into the equation but now we have Roberts as cover for right back it might prove foolhardy to play both our injury prone left backs in the same game.
