Total teletext breakdown before half-time........depending on PASOTI thread for result, Southend end with 10 men. We all did pretty badly on the prediction league.....very hard to see any set form developing
Well i was entertained on BBC Devon...hopefully so were the 6000 or so fans.. look forward to comments from you Guys that were there...
Good evening gentlemen, the match was ok ...... well it was a bit boring to be honest and the ref was carp but we didn't lose so that was one positive. Southend were getting away with murder holding on to our players etc etc and they got away with loads of it. The football was ok although not very exciting ! Still as I said we didn't lose. Best bit of the match was listening to a couple of fans baiting the Southend keeper and I think that says it all ! Was surprised at how few Southend fans made the trip down ! There is definately no one close to the "Green Army"
Hi AWAYINBC. Bit of a problem with the equipment having gotten home from a beer or two. The PC I mean. Argyle played quite well for the majority of the match. Not fantastic or anything of that sort but reasonable. Southend were a bit of a disappointment because they were no great shakes and Argyle were coping quite comfortably. Argyle huffed and puffed a bit in the first half without really looking like scoring to be honest. When then eventually went 1 - 0 up it was no surprise. Good move and good finish. Nice build up and everything you would want to see without it being a 30 yard unstoppable shot to the top corner. Somehow having gone one up they went to sleep again for a short time. Their forward whose name I don't know turned Purse with ease and put it away with equal ease. Made Purse look like a novice to be honest and the goal was down to him being passed so easily. After they drew level it was sort of 50/50 with neither team looking like scoring. Then came the sending off. Purse made an absolute meal of a bit of off ball contact and made sure the Ref saw him fall over. The Southend player was a bit peeved to say the least with this dramatic collapse to the floor and pushed out at Purse. Ref was by this time looking straight at him and a Red followed. It was a no brainer of a Red but Purse absolutely got the man sent off rather than anything else. You could call it a professional doing what a professional does. The officials were not great. There was so much holding of our front two it was embarrassing. Another era and the full backs/Centre Halfs would have had to marry our strikers. The Ref and lino did nothing about it all game. But they were not to blame for the result. This was 2 points lost in my humble opinion.
Thanks Mr.SENSIBLE...I was also at the pub and my equipment starting acting up..(not the computer).. seems to me 2 pints now is it..
Even checked Skysports Plym at full time and said 0-0....everyone must been on the blink! but a point against Southend is ok.
Jenkins failed a pre-match fitness test on a groin strain. Shame really, as soon as it looks like a strongest 11 and bench is emerging and is available, another injury strikes.
We do seem fated notdistant that's true. We could have done with Jenkins yesterday and with him I think we would have taken 3 points. The midfield weren't bad but from what I heard about Jenkins from the first match I think he is a better player than the two we have. It would not have taken a great deal more to have won this one. I think a lot of supporters would have taken a draw before kick off hp so you are right in the sense this wasn't a bad result. It should have been 3 points though and in retrospect it looked like 2 points lost rather than 1 gained. We have a decent chance of a couple of wins in the next two matches. Fingers crossed all the right people will be available. There is no doubt there has been improvement though so some reason to be cheerful.
