Where did all the style go tonight?

Where was all the patient build up and the precision passing?

Where was the ball to feet?

Where were the substitutions that could have changed the pattern of play?

    That was horrible to watch.

But when you think about it, in the face of such collective ineptitude we still got a point - it's a good sign, but please now the cameras have gone, can we get back on track against Exeter on Saturday?

Hmmm. Followed the text on the Beeb and it sounded grim. Still unbeaten and a lot of football still to play, but it sounded like we got bullied out of that one.

Thought our midfield particularly Stephens went AWOL 2nd half. Not enough humger.

Hopefully an honest and fair assessment form me:

First 25 minutes was great to watch. An early goal, pressing, keeping the ball on the floor, interchnaging of passing. Just the final pass away from getting in behind them on several occasions. Stephens miss was the catlayst. Score that and we are two up in 20 minutes. Megson went from playing one up front to 4-4-2, and to his credit Wenesday were more effective after that. I say effective. But not attractive or pretty or pleasing on the eye. What they have is a group of good third division players who know exactly how to do their individual jobs. No team with Semedo and prutton in the middle of midfield can be called 'creative'. Up front they have power in Madine. Their centre backs do what they need to.
Unfortunately for us we haven't yet learned how to counter this. But we will.
I felt they had no threat apart from high balls into the box or up to Madine. At no point was I worried when they had possession in our half and Hamer had one shot to deal with in the second half.
Anyway, we remain unbeaten and have scored in every game and I fully expect another three points on Saturday.

By the way, is Green injured?

When you think of the way Stevens took his goal against Bournemouth, FHB that was a really bad miss tonight - all it needed was a sidefoot. He was totally anonymous all game.

IMO Pritchard could have made a real difference off the bench tonight.

    Pleased??

    I have to disagree Tewks.

We played some good stuff 1st half then through it away against a very very very poor Wednesday.

Brighton won the championship by coming to places like us and rolling us over; If we can't do it at home then that's a huge concern...

    Well maybe 'relieved' then Kish.

Just happy to get this one out of the way, get some really poor performances tonight out of our system, and get back to winning again on Saturday.

    Tonight was awful. Turgid dross.

Stephens has been off the boil since the Notts County match. Hayes was dire. The less said about Hollands, the better.

Solly was once again the man of the match. BWP's goal was fantastic but then spent the next 87 minutes chasing long balls.

Sort it out Powell. The Owls were there for the taking, but we blew it.

Both teams dreadful for the vast majority of the match.

    Manager very slow with substitutions.

Picking up a point when playing garbage is good. Picking up a point when playing against garbage not so good.

    6 down, 40 to go.

The midfield were absent and we could have done with the creativity of Bover and Pritchard in that situation. Could be that the dressing room talk of Semedo getting stuck into them put them off their game but they definitley need to be challenging for their place. Morrison had an OK game but thought Wiggins was vulnerable. Solly and Waggy played well, but I would have like to see Green on with Waggy replacing Hayes who didn't even have a good warm up before the game. BWP looked to be feeding on what he was given, but we didn't pass the ball second half and the hoof it game returned. I lost count of the number of times the ball went from one box to the other.

Good that we didn't lose in front of the cameras but CP needs to sit down with them before Saturday and have normal service resumed.

Chris was awful last night he showed that he needs an experienced No.2

    No substitutions until 78th minute?
    Then Euell came on??? WTF
Stephens played whole game when he contributed nothing!
    Pritchard was not brought on!
Chris sat on the advertising hoarding the whole game and seemed to refuse to talk to other coaches?
Chris seems unable to change tactics during a game?

I am starting to wonder if he is cut out to be a manager??? :( I think even Parkinson could have won that game yesterday.

Perhaps the final 20 or so games last season was not a poor squad but a poor manager?

Wot is going on. Sheffield W werent in the game for 60 minutes then get a set piece goal
and the usual gloom merchants are shouting Powell out.
Lets face it Sheffield reminded me of Parkys Lump it and hope tactics.
On another night we could easily have rattled up 4 and and we'd be sitting top of the league
