Because I want to debate which players we should be signing, what formations suit our style of play best and I want to look forward to counting how many points we need from our next matches to win promotion. I am as guilty as the next person I know but with the current frustrations we are all arguing amongst ourselves like a bunch of old women. I know debate is good but at the moment we are all going round in negative (understandably so) circles. I wonder why I support a football team sometimes, how and why do I allow it to affect my life so much - Fingers crossed and some PMA (positive mental attitude) that this week we shall have some pleasing news...
Beats me why you get so het up about it, ristac. I'd suggest the main thing you need is a touch of that virtue: patience. If we get a takeover, by all means get optimistic. But if we don't....will you be realistic about our chances in the coming season and our longer-term future, or will you go blindly (and hopelessly) optimistic?
To be fair there has been no news update on anything since the 7th of June on the official site, which is quite unusual as they are normally trying to sell us something...
Well now they've made big news out of the fact that the Carling Cup draw is next week and we've signed up two academy graduates. A non-news article and something you'd expect as the bare minimum is what's getting touted as news.
Any up to date news on the potential take over situation? Seems very quiet..... hope it is a case of "no news is good news"!! Things need to progress soon to give Colin time to build the squad he needs. There is talk of Lee Peltier arriving within 2 weeks on newsnow, could this be some indication that things are indeed progressing on the takeover??? Lets hope so! BATES OUT! HARVEY OUT! LORIMER OUT!!

Must admit when they said two weeks I assumed straight away that this is going to go through and we are looking at two weeks till it is done and dusted. Warnock would have spoken out by now if things had fell through and he hadn't secured anyone else. Also the Snoddy situation, he hasn't left yet so I have a sneaky feeling this is all going to be a nice green light for GO GO GO

I don't see the lack of noise as a good thing in this case. Usually when a deal is close to completion, the media will be well aware, so if anything is that close to completion, i'd expect it was just investment, rather than a take over. I expect that due to the European Championships + the upcoming Olympics, that interest has cooled, or any suspected takeover has been delayed significantly. If it is some multi billionaire, then no doubt he'll be busy throwing elaborate parties and making sure he's seen in the right places at this time.
Mixture of both really I think. My Dad works with someone who knows someone in the club (which is how I got my shirt signed by the team as a kid) but I haven't heard anything from him for ages. However, all the tweets from people who do appear to know something suggest it's almost a done deal but we're still going to have to wait a wee bit longer. Obviously some people won't actually know what's happening but it's promising that everyone's saying the same thing.
A club statement with a little more information would be appreciated by all. As far as I'm concerned Bates has been far too quiet for there to be nothing going on, if the rumours were false he'd be the first one up stating it's all BS. I see Forest have stated they are in talks and things are developing, maybe that's how we should be dealing with the situation.
This is true, how many times have rumours come out and he blasts them about a day later as bullshit. Theres something happening whether it be a takeover or investment
