Give this starting 11 a chance for a sustained period, even if we have the odd slip up. Lees, White, Clayton, Snoddy & Nunez are the future for our club. From what I keep reading Lonergan was a good move, hope O'Dea played well in his natural position and sounds like Keogh is a good partner for any striker. 4-4-****ing2 please, and then we have a reasonable size squad with out the odd pointless loan
I would normally 100% agree but I think we need to bring Howson back in on Sat and put 5 in middle to negate West Hams midfield as they are top players in there to be fair (Nolan, Parker etc). Maybe after that give tonights lads another go.
Nah man replace howson for brown and let clayton do the talking! to score 4 goals in a 4-4-2 says this is exactly the formation that needs to be from now on
**** we just got a headline shout out on sky news "Leeds take the spoils in the Yourkshire derby" been a while since ive heard that
I'm sure the side we had out tonight is a bit of an unknown quantity for opponents, start with the same lads, maybe bring on Howson and Mad Max in the 2nd half to replace the strikers if we need a bit more in the middle
Monster, sometimes you`ve got to realise the oppo are stronger in some areas though, and West Hams midfield is the best in the division. Imo we have to combat that and that would be the best way to do it. May not be pretty but a ground out draw or nicked win would be a great result. Different Strokes for Different, erm, Games. Anyway, brilliant tonight and def v promising to play that team and formation against a lot of other teams (just not all of them!) in the div as I reckon we would do some damage.
These are more or less the players who I was looking forward to seeing take us forward this season. This is where Simon needs to show us he doesn't just pick his favourites, even if they have the odd slip up, I can see long term these are the players we should build around, and get then tied to long contracts!
i like the look of nunez (on the tv) he seems to have quicker feet than floyd Mayweather and can score..... we need to get that boy tied down....
Lets not jump the gun, Gradel etc are proven. White, amongst others, has flattered to deceive lots of times, lets see how they pan out over a season before a 'the king is dead long live the king' routine kicks in.
at home, maybe... we've had poorer success with 4-4-2 away. That said, I genuinely don't believe a single player from tonight should be replaced on Sunday. Snodgrass was the only player that maybe could use a game on the bench to get his head in gear, he was good today but not the amazing we've come to expect from him. Other than that... entirely amazing. Lees had a couple of touch and go moments after the OG but scoring that goal will have given him redemption and taught him the important lesson that a single mistake doesn't have to ruin your game/career. Those were his "up/down" moments. The rest was pure class. He's a real talent. Also, I think Kisnorbo makes a better captain than Howson. I also don't think Howson should expect a start on Sunday, the centre mid tonight was far too good. If I were to put one of the suspended players back in it would be Gradel on the wing and have Nunez fill Howsons spot. Nunez has proven himself too many times to not get his rightful place in the starting line up. I genuinely believe he should be in there until he loses form.
What's a Yorkshire derby? Oh is it one of those games where we play a small tinpot club that is regionally close to Leeds but that we don't actually care about? Last I heard Huddersfield Town were the only ones we actually had any sort of emotion towards, and even that is questionable!
spanish, yes tie Nunez down long term now, fully agree. I was thinking more of the Whites of the world.
Howson's our future aswell. As much as it was down to injuries/suspensions it was great to see an academy product on either side of the defence and Zac Thompson on the bench, all this while knowing our our longest serving (self produced) player was only out for the game. I think we have a much better balance of youth and experience this season, and I include Howson in both of those camps.
