Nothing on the OS at all on the transfer front, no info on to whether Carey and Tango are considering the contracts offered, nothing about any one asking about our under contract players, surely someone should be doing something or is it going to be we'll tell the fans when we remember?
Our OS is terrible imo. They post crap majority of the time and stuff we aren't even interested in. I wouldn't mind seeing player/staff/board interviews. Even if its just one a week, It would be better than what is currently being posted. Something has to be happening! Here is one for them. Get SOD or whoever to come out and say Yes or No about if we have put a bid in for Flint
I build websites for a living, and have worked at a few agencies. It really pisses me off that Bristol City of all teams haven't put their website out to tender to a real agency, instead of going with the one that represents most of the Football League. There are literally dozens of Bristol agencies that would love to get the contract to build the Bristol City site, and they have the previous clients and the ability to build sites on par with the likes of the Man City site. All the board need to do is to put the site out to tender and see who wants the job. Hell, Lansdown, I'll do it for half price!
Sorry Ender but do you really think anyone in supposed charge at Aston Gate ever listen to anybody? Poor excuse for a management team methinks.
We could have the best site in the world but it wouldn't matter. It's the information from BCFC we need, but the bunch of inept cronies in charge don't understand sh*t from pudding.
It's a missed opportunity because the club could become so much stronger in the future with a great internet presence. Currently, they pay a rolling contract to a company that handle the sites for nearly every Football League site. In fact, they probably pay more on this contract than they'd pay for a nice site because this company will handle nearly everything for them, apart from content entry. It's very little effort in reality, and given that there are tons of graduates that would love to get involved in sports journalism I'm sure a lot of young people would love to work as internal journalists for the club. Yes, even with a top website the club will need to regularly update their site, but I reckon that for the price of a great website they could also hire a few copywriters to write regular, good content. Any decent agency could handle the site design, development, on-going maintenance and marketing campaigns. It's the kind of deal that agencies would kill for, because football is serious business and being able to represent the second biggest team in the south west wouldn't be one many would want to pass up.
We do need to remember that while negotiations are taking place with Nyatanga and Carey we are unlikely to be told anything - my guess is that they are still weighing up their options As far as transfers are concerned the buying club will always want to keep it quiet so not to alert other clubs - Swindon have released the Flint transfer bid story in an effort to get the price up
Amazing how we have bbc twitter and a few other sites telling us about our new signing before its even on the OS (Which it still isn't on yet) Get your act together! It should have been on our OS before it was on twitter........
Good but too slow I got info from radio Bristol about that signing and the state of play with Carey and Tango on the net before anything appeared on the OS surely if they want fans to use the Official Site they should be making sure info appears there first?
Basically that they were only given the contracts on Monday so it will be a little while before we know what is happening from the mouth of S O'D. that would have been enough to put on the site seeing as we were told of new contracts being offered before Tom Heaton went off to sign for Burnley.
