Have the Daily Mail ever posted anything that was not pure speculation. There should be a law that states the media cannot publish a story without at least one quote to back it up.
Be sad to see Wes go,he's a proper manc who loves the club, but if he's after first team football then I think going to play regularly under Brucie will be a good move for him. Gibbo, well, not my favourite player but he tried bless him,I just dont think he's good enough to be at a team challenging for the League and Champions League,Sunderland will be a good level for him and he could do well their,a bit like Richardson who's done well for them. But this is the Daily Fail of course,so we'll see what happens
Not the only rag this sotry has popped up in. Read the gossip collunm today and read that sunderland were making a 12 million pound bid for the pair. Well thats nonsnese because A. Together there not worth 12 million. b. Browns out of contract this summer and gibsons not worth 12 million on his own. Personally I think both will leave and hope both do. Browns been past it for a long time and he is on huge wages. He played 15 games total last year and some of those were only cameo's. He also apparently had a major falling out with fergie and has never been in favour since because imitated fergie in the dressing room and go caught. Hes been a great servant but the injuries have caught up with him and he is past it now. Shame, but with brown it will always be case of what could of been had he not been injured half his career. Such is life, still a great servant for the club though. Gibsons not good enough and if sunderland offer us upwards of 6 million for him then snatch it quickly and dotn give them a receipt so they can come back for a refund.
TheStrettyEnd You never know, they might be given new contracts just like Owen was, maybe a 4 year deal for Gibson and a 2 year deal for Brown?
Its possible. But we have a lot more defenders than strikers. So I dont see brown being kept. Evans, rio, vida, smalling, rafab, oshea, evra etc. We have a lot of options.
Gibsons not good enough and if sunderland offer us upwards of 6 million for him then snatch it quickly and dotn give them a receipt so they can come back for a refund. ............................. If Sunderland offer to take Gibson and ask us to give them a million, we should bite their hand off.
why dont we just loan out gibson, bebe and obertan,Im sure they all will improve .................... We loaned out Gibson three years ago to Wolves when they were in the championship. They were not intrested in having him back.
Gibson's 23 now, so I don't honestly see him making big strides by going out on loan. More likely he'd plateau even more than he has done over the last couple of seasons. That said, I'm not sure many better midfielders would be willing to be 6th choice CM for us, and possibly 7th choice if Cleverly breaks through and we sign another CM. So is it not worth keeping him as a dependable, if unspectacular, backup in case of an injury crisis?
So is it not worth keeping him as a dependable, if unspectacular, backup in case of an injury crisis? ..................... Swarbs My problem with that is that he has to get games, and is, in all essence, holding back the development of better players than him, like Anderson. I would rather see the likes of Pogba and Morrison take Gibsons place in the squad.
As would I. It would give them a boost and probably accelerate their development if they were to get into the squad. And Gibson, realistically, isn't going to get a lot better. Though I think Morrison really needs to work on his decision making before being involved with the first team. Far too keen to take people on in positions where it could cost the team.
Though I think Morrison really needs to work on his decision making before being involved with the first team. ...................................................................................................... He needs to stop hitting his missus too doesnt he!!
I think enough is enough with Gibson. He's been given enough opportunities in the 'lesser games' to stake a claim as a regular starter, but (apart from Shalke) fails to impress. He doesn't seem to have developed much since he emerged and the best aspect of his game, his shooting, seems to have disappeared anyway. Sell him for what we can get to a yo-yo club. I predict he will eventually find his level in the Championship.
