As a mod, you are everything we and other boards should want.

I (we) understand your frustration and position, in this close season. So much change at our club, so many new members (myself included) to this board & a much wider, more diverse cross section of supporters than before.
This obviously brings the good with the bad.

Personally, i think the 3 mods that have been present on this board since i signed up, have been the best on any board i've posted. Intelligent, well informed, even handed and easy going. To say they let a lot of "controversial" stuff go, would be an understatement & credit to them.

Who else can talk to DT in "DT language"
Shut Swords up in one foul swoop
Disect the inconsistencies in the "Flyerisms"
And silence a drunk Queen when he dosent know he needs silencing!!!!

Brix...I salute you !...And i urge all other posters to do the same........

This USED to be a really good board.

A band of Rangers to interact with whenever there was a chance of a break from the real world. Almost a sense of solidarity going on between us at one time. Certainly a fair amount of respect within our deliberations. Made the prospect of being a mod a bit appealing, the idea of tweaking stuff to keep a good thing going... Could see the point of it. Pleased to help out.

Well he sounds depressed ...on the flip side I maintain its entertainment and the time of the month/year. Brix knows only too well that the season is upon us and matters other than football will soon be off the discussion topics. Anyway it's entertainment and the mods have a thankless task to which i am sure we are all grateful to regardless of who gets stuck with the job. We are all QPR at the end of the day and I think we should be proud of the board and in fact Brix has said as much ...I hope he remains that proud because we are light years ahead of the others on N606

I too believe Brix knows that once the season starts, the sh*t will stop and it will be all about the football once more.

Being a moderator is a crap job, but in order for a board to work, someone's got to do it.

Brix is an excellent moderator, because he never takes sides, he only drags people back when they need it, and he rarely brings in Syd unless he reckons it's absolutely necessary. Loads of things probably go a bit too far, and it's up to us to make sure they never reach the point where threads need closing / deleting. Nuts is doing an excellent job too, but it seems that Brix is taking the brunt of the crap.

Most members here appreciate that, sadly a few don't, and these few are making Brix's life a misery on the board at the moment. Everyone needs to take a step back before hitting the Submit Post button and read it through - and if there's any probability of causing offence, reword it or don't post. It's not difficult, and it'll make life around here so much better.

 

Even though I dont know the guy, I cant see a thread where he is announcing he is leaving the mod job

Sorry QLR, didn't realise what this thread was about (you and your vague headings!).

Thanks also to you and others for your empathy on a mod's lot and that role within what was fast becoming a divided board. I say 'was' because Northolt's open refusal to resume modding, means that the recent attempt to divide our board has effectively disappeared and we can now get back to business as usual. Having said that, I must emphasise that Northolt himself was in no way involved in any attempt to divide us and has expressed his satisfaction in the service we mods provide.

I would add that posts on this and other threads (and PMs) speculating on my reactions to the rubbish increasingly pumping round our system, have been spot on in the main. Dejected wasn't the word! But I've been in people management long enough to know that running away from problems does nowt to sort them out. Your kind and perceptive responses, all gratefully received, have left me in no doubt that NUTS and I have sufficient support from members on here to apply the rules as rigidly as necessary to remove posts, threads and/or posters that fail to self-moderate.

I assure you that anything we feel we have to do now will be done not for personal reasons but entirely for the ongoing health and integrity of this board of ours - and OUR right to enjoy each others' company whenever we get a moment to ourselves.

As far as I'm aware Brix has never called Syd in.

 

Would just like to add my bit:

I have found this board the one of the best around - and that is due to nature of the mods on this site. There was a period a few weeks ago when it got a bit 'heated' but once the season resumes I am sure it will calm down.

I cant comment on recent events as I have been too busy to spend alot of time on here but all the mods here have my, and I am sure many others support to continue in the same way as they have been.

Ok.....so I've been on my hols and I'm too knackered to search through and see what's happened. I certainly don't want to stir up anything that's transpired, but would someone mind spelling out what's happened with regards to people trying to split the board etc or point me to the relevant thread/s?
