Continuing with humorous thread previous, this game has the look of a resounding Home Win. To consolidate our top 6 nicely. Let's hope our preferred players in best positions are rested enough to take the field Saturday. We liked the look of some youngsters replacing old tired hands at various key positions. And we didnt like the look of one or two others. The good news for me is that I am driving up for this one, as havn't made the journey for about 9 months. And I cant wait to be greeted by Warky with a fistful of a pint!! Talking of which any sign of Hoppers and co?...one or two familiar faces not showing this season. Now, off topic on a Pleaful note. Most on here will know that I have been battling with cancer for past 9 months. Recent tests show encouraging results and I think I have beat the bugger! I would just urge all those on here, and those friends, family and relations you know that are pushing 50, or past it, to go and get a PSA test, check-up. Dont wait for some national programme - there isnt one! Ask your GP next time. I was diagnosed early enough as a To Watch case, and then they forgot to call me back! A year later, it was red flag scenario. I am one of the luckier ones. Healthy diet, positive approach, passionate about several things in life, especially ITFC, many great friends...and I am on the road back. 8 men I mentioned it to went for a check-up, 5 had cancer. 2 of whom are my bros! So, do us a favour, even if you are in your 40's and think not for me yet....the age range is falling. Why am I on this small mission? Cause us men are pretty crap at such things, talking, sharing and having meds. Show us a Thumbs up, a Pint or Cheers in reply. Now back to those Bristols.....yes, you may know that one of the side effects is you lose all sign of fancying any crumpet and doing anything about it...but the good news...its temporary! At least, that's what they told me and I am 66! Lets meet Rileys or the Plough( better choice of ales and Adnams!), 1.30 onwards. Look forward to seeing you all who can make it. Good crowd, 22,000, 3-1 Town, Freddie, McG at last, and Smithy who comes on as a sub and bangs one in to remind us all that he still has it in him!
Happily meet up with both you guys Great advice also, drop me your digits and I'll make this happen. What stand will you be?
Definitely something that's always in the back of my mind Gaffer. Lost my mum to cancer at the age of 54, her mother died young of it too. I have no brothers or sisters and I'm hoping it only affects the female side of the gene pool. I'm forty next year, had a work mate who just died two weeks ago. We knew it would be coming when he didn't take to the bone marrow transplant. They had to do a complete blood transfusion to restart his immune system and he took to it 99%, wasn't quite good enough. He offered himself as a guinea pig for new drugs and methods during his final year and made a good fight of it. Got to the point where he decided to stay at home and pass away rather than soldier on. As you say. men like to march on regardless. I have a bad back, do I get it checked out...nope, but I should. Looks like I'll be coming back to the island next September for my best mate's wedding. Will try to meet up with as many of you as possible for beers and banter Stay strong gaffer me ol' mate.
SD, sorry to hear about your mate, at least he made the final call and peacefully his choice. On to brighter things, I look forward to catching up in a year.....right old party before a match....in the Prem!! 1st round on young Warky, eh!
Bit disappointed with the starting line up. What the hell do I know though, let's see. I'll go 3-1 town
Little surprised at the line up but nothing alarming at fielding 11 fresh first team players. It suggests he's settled on a first 11 aswell now, which is usually a positive thing. How are we playing? No updates from my BBC app yet.
Bristol started the brightest but Town doing much better now. Couple of good chances for Murphy. Pretty even Stevens at the mo.
Why are you surprised indeed? That fecking defence is **** and how many times, skuse and douglas together, NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
