Don't need to tell anyone on here of the task ahead to stay in the league. We have 18 games left to perhaps win 7 or 8 to scrape out of the bottom two. From the very second game of the season we have been handicapped by a chronic lack of points at the start of the season. If we are relegated it will not be on our recent form but due to only taking 1 point out of a possible 27 in the first 9 games under Peter Reid, consequently we now have to achieve a high ratio of wins to games to catch up and avoid being cast adrift.Given the bottom three teams are so finely balanced with each other any team now losing a game will be severely disadvantaged.I have a horrible feeling the Port Vale goal could cost us very dear.Still rate our survival chance as 60/40 against survival.I so so hope I am wrong.:emoticon-0141-whew:

If a gap developes between us and the 3rd from bottom team that is more than 3 maybe 4 points at anytime soon then I think your 60 - 40 is a bit optimistic. At the moment it is one game which we could win and they could lose. To even get where we are has been a slog and fine effort if you think about it. The fact that the other clubs have not exactly sprinted away anywhere gives reason for hope as far as our future is concerned but it is going to be nip and tuck for the rest of the season unless our fortunes suddenly change. I still think a few others will drop into the mix before the end so it may not be just between 3 clubs.

Realistically on current form of the bottom half dozen clubs we will probably find ourselves bouncing up and down off bottom place depending on the other clubs results.Agree if we are cast adrift by more than four points or so with 18 games or less remaining -think it will be curtains.I notice that Fletcher and other various players have stopped saying we dont need to worry about other teams results and only concentrate on our own.Reality kicking in at last.

What I don't want is for Argyle to go into the last game of the season needing something. Notoriously in our history if that has been the case we have lost. If we could only put a little run together now it would be such a boost but I'm not sure that's realistic. I'm just praying but I did that last season and the one before.

Hasn't it been two promoted teams at ours winning their promotions that have sent us down in the last two? The God of fate strikes again...........I'm not religious either but would have kissed the Pope's ring if it helped but he scored against us last Saturday so he can kiss his own.

If Cheltenham are safely top of the league or are certain of promotion then I doubt that they would come down caring about the result. If however they are in danger of dropping into the play offs then I would expect brown trousers time.

I think based on our form if we get 8-9 wins that should be enough but once again we would be reliant on other teams beating the relegation threatened rivals. If D&R particularly, keep overturning teams (3-2 again at Rotherham) then we could be in trouble.

There are of course all kinds of permentations in terms of who gain points and who don't,the biggest unknown is ,who will drop down the league into the relegation fight-because somebody will as will a team at the bottom will get a run together-hopefully us of course.Feel heartened at the two guys coming.Think Fletcher and Brent realise as all the fans are saying we need a striker in or else we are dead meat.COME ON THE ARGYLE.
