So yeah, I was kinda pissed off yesterday. However, I've had a thought since then and this is a thread I've been meaning to post for a while.

What can we all agree are the two biggest problems affecting football today?
    1) Financial stupidity - in contast to the stupid money at City (and the Mackems), we have spent within our means this transfer window, to be rewarded with a fairly strong midfield, quality in our defence and GK cover. And a £600k profit to boot. Just the striker to go now.

    2) Player power - probably my biggest point, we refused to cave in to Barton and Nolan's unrealistic contract length demands. Yes, I'd rather they stayed, but in this way, what we're essentially doing is making the players answerable to the manager - the way it should be. We are making the stand that should have been made a long time ago, against agents and against dare I say it the methods used by some *cough Maiga* to try and force moves out.

Don't forget there have been strikes by all the players in Spain and Italy!

No problems with Nolan going, but Barton was the heartbeat of our team and should've been retained.

You would still have him after his twitter comments? Personally I'm glad he is off, no respect for fans and now he has left he can't wait to criticise our club, good player but poor proffesional.

Is it true that you can only qualify for Europe if you aren't in debt or something from the last 3 years? Man city have loads of money so they'll be in Europe, but Man U, Sunderland etc won't Im not sure if this is true and if I have got the facts right, but Ive heard from a few sources about this.

This might be where FMA is aiming.

That may well be the rule but unfortunately UEFA are toothless and would never disqualify anyone ¬_¬
I personally think that treating the club as a business can work - certainly the squad we have now is better than when Ashley took over, it's just a shame the route we had to take to get there!
