Who of the current squad do you think will definitely start for us in League One in August.

Please bear in mind that we have an astonishing 45 pros on our books, and that the vast majority are either out of contract, loans, or duds who will need to be moved on. Oh, and a couple will be sold this summer for a fee.

I have been through the list, and of the current 45, I reckon only 3 will start with us in League One next season:

Solly - loyal servant, under contract, dodgy knees, no transfer value

Fox - utter sh1t, under contract, whoever is manager will give him a try in League One

Jackson - under contract, won't play every week, will build a League One mid table team around 'the skipper'

    <cheers>

    Err...thats it

    Anyone think different?

It's not so easy to move the duds on, though. Who would take Johnson? Or Sarr? Will Vetokele still be 50/50 to be fit for the opening game? Phillips will be back from his loan and I expect him to be in goal. One thing's for sure- Roland will do things his way, ie utter chaos.

kashi, johnson, cousins, harriott, fox, solly, vetokele all to stay in my opinion. not many of these will be wanted elsewhere.

henderson is 50/50 to stay. pope wont stay, too much time as number 2 probably made him not sign a longer deal and he always looked more at home/relaxed when he was with his loan clubs

Apparently Igor wants out (who could blame him). The fact he was 50-50 for Bristol, and we haven't heard anything since is quite telling I think.

No doubt Roland has taken note of the cunning plan used by the Oystons to save money. They get rid of as many players as they can as soon as the season ends, then don't get any until just before the next season starts, thereby saving on wages for 2/3 months. At least that's what they did the season they finished in the same position that we now occupy.

Apart from Henderson, nobody from Saturday's starting eleven.

I'd then go with Jackson, Holmes-Dennis, Harriott(who may well do well in League 1 after his time with Colchester), Solly, Fox, Pope.

After this we're looking at development squad players.

Looking grim and the season has not started yet.

I read on Charlton Life that we have an option of another year with him.

Aaagh, either way he's not going to halt our slide into division 4.

There is talk of Vetokele going to the Middle East. Not sure if the pitches will be good for his legs but sure he will get paid handsomely.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Hendo stay now. His stock has dropped - rightly or wrongly- this season. He probably could have commanded a near seven figure sum last summer, reckon we'd receive half of that and at that point it doesn't make sense to sell at that price.

It's been mentioned today that we have an option to extend Harriotts contract and we should do so. Proved his worth in league one earlier this season.

Kashi will be our semedo - but better. As long as he recovers fully.

Solly and JJ near guarenteed. Cousins too I think.

After typing this all out - I came to the realization that nothing would surprise me though. Going to stop trying to think logically, what's the point?

Jose Riga will be gone at the end of the season. He's not really been a place longer than six months. He'll be replaced by Niall McGuinness, Europes youngest football manager, currently of Rhyl in the Welsh Premier Leauge.

We'll sell most of the squad because Katrine will say that everyone is too expensive, Crappy Sarr thinks he's too good for this league, JBG will be at Norwich, Vetokele will have his contract terminated along with Tucadean and a couple of others.

Roland will sell us some crappy Upjest players, have one of the largest squads in the league (which we do at the moment), play five defenders and two defensive midfielders, and three midfielders, and lose 6-0 to Bury in front of a record low crowd of 2,700 at The Valley, on a Tuesday, followed by a 5-0 away defeat at Port Vale. Only for the manager to be changed to Nebojša Vignjević, after an extensive fourteen week search with Guy Luzon being interim.
