Is anything happening with the likes of Graham and Diakhite?
Its been made obvious Gus doesnt rate them so are they moving on as its been very quiet?

    Also Cabral, Ndiaye, DMK etc?

Personally would like to keep Ndiaye and DMK for depth but seems to have gone very quiet otherwise?

The wages they are on seems to be a stumbling block for potential transfers.

It clear they're not fancied by Gus, which is good enough for me, hopefully we can move some of them on and free wages to strengthen with a better fit.

I cant imagine, even though we got them on a free that they are on that much tbh RAW

Between them few i'd be surprised if they were on £100k p/w

You know, none of these are bad players either and should easily be able to find clubs.

    Odd situation.

If they're offered a lower wage elsewhere and moneys important to them then they dont have to leave sadly

All speculation but... Graham is supposedly on ridiculous wages of 35-40k he was earning a similar amount to Catts, Bardo and Larsson. N'Diaye was supposedly given a hefty deal which I imagine will be somewhere in the region of 25-35k. At a guess I'd say Cabral and Diakite came in fairly cheap at around 15k, anymore and we've been rinsed, DMK is probably on about 5-10k.

We're overpaying on players who offer absolutely nowt, agreed 100k a week isn't loads for 5 squad players but that could pay decent wages for 5 squad players who actually offer some depth. Even as squad players I don't think they're up to it.

Not having a go lads but apart from Danny Graham I don't think the others have had a fair crack of the whip for us to spout opinions. A lot on here slated Wickham. He was the catalyst last season to us still being an EPL club.
Cab was MotM against Fulham then nothing. Rumours he's attitude was wrong.
Diakite is a big brute of a bloke who imo is better than JOS.
N'diaye. Slow when he first came but seemed to be getting better with every game.
Karlson. Fast as f*ck. pace is needed in the EPL and he's only young.
Not likely to get a run of games to showcase their talents but players who can do a job if called on.

Accepted Gus could free up wages for his own players if they went and fair enough but, imo, the players above aren't that bad.

I agree, but Gus see's them train and he obviously feels they don't fit the system, that's good enough for me so want them moving on asap so we can continue to evolve.

We also need to consider the players wishes, some of them may want away for all we know. I've heard no statements of intent from any of them apart from Alfie. Nobody seems interested in them. For one reason or another most of them don't have a future with us. They've got loans written all over them.

You've got to be kidding pal - this situation has been happening to us since we got back into the Premier. We've got to stop paying way over the odds on untested players like Diakite and Roberge. Remember how Russell Anderson stayed with us for about 3 years and didn't get a kick? things move way too slowly for us in the transfer market and have been no matter who the manager or director of football is.
Wouldnt it be better for us to release players that Gus doesn't fancy ? I doubt some of these guys will get much of a fee, and they wont want to leave cos we are forced to pay them silly money cos players dont want to come to the North East.

If what you're saying, and they're on "silly money" then releasing them like you suggest would cost a fortune

Also, how could we possibly pay over the odds for a free transfer?
