So with SM in charge which players, if any do you think he can develop to the next level?
I'd like to think he could improve Perez, Roberts, Lascelles, Aarons and Darlow from the young lads and for the seniors I think there's more to come from Sissoko, Cabella (if he stays), Anita and Abeid.
Whilst we are making the right signings it's the improvement of the wider talent pool that I feel we should be looking at.. and I'm sure Steve is.

All of the above and Anita. He's a very tidy passer of the ball and fits McClaren's style perfectly.

Edit: Just noticed that you'd already included Anita.

Obviously young player wise you'd anticipate him continuing the good work with Armstrong, Roberts, Aarons, Kemen, Dummett, Perez, Abeid, and then add Darlow, Lascelles, Mitrovic, Mbemba. Basically anyone under 23 should be continuing to develop. For all Pardew was not well liked he had set us on a very good path with young players and had them coming along nicely. The exposure afford to Abeid, Aarons, Dummett, Armstrong and Perez will be important in this next period. It has given them an idea of where they need to get to. McClaren can hopefully continue to give them chances and aid their development.

Of the old brigade, lets just hope he can help Tiote sort his fitness issues out. Maybe the fitness coach can help Anita and Cabella out physically. Perhaps he can also keep SDJ fit. Colback's level went up a notch from his time at Sunderland as you'd expect as a player gets older. He also felt he was making a step up which always helps a player mentally. Hopefully McClaren can make him better again.

One player I had big hopes for was young Kemen, the French U.19 Captain. however hearing Newcastle are considering selling him to Inter Milan. If true, this is nothing short of disgraceful as he really is a star for the future. Has Ca$hley reverted to his norm, buy cheap and sell on for a profit. This kid is one for the future, if not this year then certainly next.

He stays fit and I expect him to rip it right up this season. He has got the potential to be too notch.

I hope this new season will see Roberts make his breakthrough.

Mike Williamson - i think he will develop into an older version of the current Mike Williamson under SM.

Mike may have been a Balinese prince in a previous life. Carver gone and taken Guttierez and Raylor with him. Colo and Williamson to follow?

Aarons, Dummet, Perez will all come good. Lascelles couldn't get in the forest team last season so not sure about him. How much playing time will Darlow get? Krul doesn't get too many injuries and IF we are taking the cups serioulsy then i'd expect them to play Krul in those games. Armstong looks good but imagine he'll be on loan this year.

I've got a feel that someone is going to put an offer in for Aarons. We should tie him down to a new contract soon rather than later.

I think his new deal is imminent according to reports. I think this splurge has convinced him he's in the right place.

Hoping the news that he will be signing over the week-end turns out to be true. With better signings coming to the club he may see a future after all.
