I've just been reading this BBC article, which hints that Aberdeen might not be able to sign Steven Smith from us because apparently his wages are rumoured to double on promotion.

Does this seem likely to you guys? Has Lambert signed a group of players on contracts where their wages double in the premier league? :undecided:

  3. Doubt it, I think Smith was on a fair wage at Rangers though...and I doubt that he would have taken too much of a pay cut to join us. So, it could be true but I would doubt Lambert would be part of any negotiation that would see any player double his salary upon promotion.

I'm sure Smith doesn't want to sit in our reserves in Norwich as he misses home which is why he went back. I would think he would be more than willing to take a pay cut to return to Scotland, should he need to.
