This is where I would normally add the players comments after the game from twitter. We only get to hear 1 maybe 2 players comments after the game on the radio. But on twitter usually majority of the players puts their thoughts down, so we get to see what they are all thinking. However not one single player was bothered to make a comment at all.
have they been told not to say anything? are they ashamed like you said seamge? do they even care? i know its only twitter but always without fail the majority of the players would post something after the game. even if its just to thank the fans for the support or to moan about the ref or banter with each other. but nothing from any of them. its pretty strange.
On the radio Ward was dissapointed not only with the result performance etc also with the supporters swearing at him tensions are obviously high perhaps they also vented there anger at the players as well. This may go some way to explain the lack of comments also perhaps they are ashamed and what can you say. Goodness knows what the City players feel like after there very dissapointing result at home (normally they play well at home) and dropping into the relegation spots. The manager was speechless (Sure the players were motivated following his comments) Not a great day for West Country sport unless you support Yeovil (you would have thought they had won the cup according to Johnsons comments post match) Or an Egg chaser well done Bath. according to those on the OS forum who were there yesterday, they were not swearing at ward like "f**k off ward you c**t". it was "sort this f**king s**t out". obviously a big difference. but thats going by those who claim to have been there and heard it themselves. fans spend money on tickets, travel (petrol), food and drink - maybe not just for themself but maybe for family too. over 1000 at exeter and the football was crap. over 1000 at newport and the football was crap. over 1000 at plymouth and the football was crap. same yesterday that the football was crap. of course they will express their anger. too defensive, not enough quality, pace, commitment and passion. its not acceptable to dish out the same crap to these loyal fans who spend their hard earned money week in and week out - especially in this financial climate. they have paid and have the right to express their opinions towards the crap that was on show. but if it was swearing at ward being abusive towards him then no that is not acceptable.
http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Criticism-stings-Ward-Bristol-Rovers/story-19801099-detail/story.html As Ward trooped towards the changing room at the final whistle after watching his side suffer a second successive away defeat, a handful of supporters left the manager in no doubt that he needed to, in their words: "sort it out". looks like those on the OS forum who apparently went to the game was correct when they said.... "they were not swearing at ward like "f**k off ward you c**t". it was "sort this f**king s**t out"."
