Over time players move on, we all know the names and not a lot seem to prosper. At this moment in time Danny should have a good long think, pastures are not always greener, take this for example ,http://www.lfconline.com/feat/ed12/allenbashing_781154/index.shtml, it's an article about how young Joe is having a torrid time at his new club and given the reception he got last night, if Danny jumped ship it feels as if he is in for a similar ride. Finally hate seeing Joe suffering this , would love him to do a Leon!
!00% right. Take a long look at all those who have left and failed. Difficult to think who has prospered since leaving. Sam Rickets is the only one who springs to mind.
Sorry no sympathy from me, he took the shilling and now he's got to get on with it. Leon was different in as much that Sousa didn't rate him and it didn't look like he had a future at the club. Joey will probably move on at some point but as a wealthier and wiser man , I can't blame him for going but thats how it is.
I think I'm siding with Bony on this one. Allen couldn't get out of here fast enough back in August. I don't think he even attended one ML training session.
Allen has been slated by the fans because his early season decent form has gone, i'm sure he regrets his move because of it, no supporters of other clubs ever slate their players.
Apparently not. My mrs was up there with Joe and his mrs for the weekend about 2 weeks ago (it was when you played Norwich) she said that they're loving it up there. I do suspect that has less to do with his performances and more to do with his new bank balance and lifestyle though
I have no doubt Allen will be a great player for us, he's top quality and the reason his form has dropped is down to the style of football we are playing, he will adapt and the team will adapt to him over time. It is wrong to say we are slating him most understand that he is a good player that is struggling to adapt.
I was being flippant SA, tbf he has been getting stick lately but to suggest that it might make him regret leaving the Swans is laughable. As pointed out already his bank balance will soften the blow and hopefully the stick will make him up his game. Btw i hope the bad feeling between our boards subsides.
Or destroy his confidence totally eh? But that seems the way of your team at the moment , blame players publicly I mean, bound to do 'em the world of good...... you think?
I can understand why players move on. It happens, and I never ever boo them when they play against us. People do move on in their professional lives and that's the way of things. But Allen was grinning like a Cheshire cat alongside Rodgers when he signed and from that point he cared more about Liverpool than the Swans, and so he should. They pay his wages. But please don't ask me to care about either of them beause I don't. If he's getting **** from the fans then he's made his bed. Exactly the same with Sinclair who came to us to play first team football then all of a sudden decided to disappear into the black hole that is Man City. No I don't feel sorry for any of them.
No my point is about wantaway Danny, just using young Joe as an example, and given his reception last night Danny should really stop and think a moment.
Well I agree with that. If he want to go and play for a team that may well finish below us, work under an old-style manager whose team can't even manage a shot on target at home against Swansea (a similarly positioned mid table side), cope with hostile fans and not be in a Cup Final at Wembley then he's a fool.
players come and players go, they have their reasons and careers to think about and sometimes it works out and sometimes it dont. Little joe wanted to go to liverpool and he has settled in very well but i dont think he is a £15 million player in any shape or form...I think he is doing reasonably well for a new kid on the block and he has the right manager to guide him through a difficult transition...Good luck to the guy he has made himself a rich young man and will never have to worry where the next penny is going to come from...He will always be a swans supporter whoever he plays for but his career has to come first..
Fcuk me Dai we're starting to agree on things Really good post you old bugger ! Just as long as Mark Gower stays I'm happy, as is the OP
how can anyone who was born and bred and signed for the swans at 9 years of age be a man utd supporter.??? I admire arsenal ever since i was a kid but i have always supported my home town team. I would imagine little joe is the same he likes man utd but supports the swans.. All the kids say they liked man utd, liverpool as they were winners and a kid would rather a winner than a looser in front of their peers ..I bet there are many on here admired another team in the top division when growing up....
I don't know Dai, I'm with you, but you need to ask him. He's a Man utd supporter. Fact! Actually, it looks like I'll be staying with him when we play them up there so I'll ask him for you and get back to you on it
Born in Narberth I believe , "Narberth is a town in Pembrokeshire, Wales.. It was founded around a Welsh court, but later became a Norman stronghold on the Landsker Line. It became the headquarters of the hundred of Narberth. It was once a marcher borough. One of it's famous ex residents is Joe Allan (footballer) who from an early age was often seen around the village in a Manchester United replica kit,"
