So, with many player still out of contract, what would you do if you were manager at the end of the season? - Bart Bialkowski (keep) - Dan Butterfield (release) - Radhi Jaidi (retiring) - Lee Holmes (keep - depending on injuries) - David Connolly (keep - depending on injuries) - Harlee Dean (releae) - Ryan Doble (unsure - see how he develops)
Sounds harsh but if I was in charge, I would probably release them all apart from Bart who I would offer a new contract
- Bart Bialkowski (Keep) - Dan Butterfield (Keep until we had some more decent competition for that place, is experienced.) - Radhi Jaidi (Release) - Lee Holmes (Keep, can offer something different on that left, would like tosee him start now fit) - David Connolly (Keep as experienced at this level, good goal poacher) - Harlee Dean (Keep & Loan) - Ryan Doble (Keep & Loan)
I have only seen him play a couple of times and greatly admire his loyalty but do people think Bart could hack it as no 1 keeper especially if we go up? Kelvin can't go on forever.
Bart is quality no doubt about that, but can he hack it playing week in week out for a season's worth of football? Nobody knows. The longest stint he's played is 8 matches in a row when Kelv was injured a few years ago.
Grouses are rare on this forum at the moment, but December 17th is open season for that rare species, Pompey supporticus saddicus. P.s. sadly this remarkable joke is ruined by the fact that the glorious twelfth is the start of the grouse season
At the moment the second goalie hardly gets a game, so we're lucky to have a decent one in Bart. A very hard position to keep filled outside the Premiership.
I'd release them all other than Connolly. I really don't rate Bart even for a 2nd choice keeper. I guess he's worth keeping as well though as he's loyal to the number 2 position
