Not that many appealing ones on offer. OUT OF CONTRACT - PREMIER LEAGUE http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/spieler/vertragsende/basics.html OUT OF CONTRACT - CHAMPIONSHIP http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/spieler/vertragsende/basics_GB2_2014.html CHAMPIONSHIP STATS (No surprise who has the most expensive assembled squad .....they at least top the table for this - well done Harry!!!!) http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/championship/startseite/wettbewerb_GB2.html
Also QPR have the second oldest team to Millwall, no surprise there! They're all on there, theres 9 pages
I hope we aren't going to try and give any of them contracts until promotion is assured, it would be far too easy to panic after the Denmark game to try and tie Kasper down, if he wants to be a premier league No1 goalkeeper, the doors open here for him.
I'm sure I read Bruce had signed a new contract with us, and that Steve Harper triggered another year through his appearances so far, so the list could be even shorter if more have signed up at other clubs for next season.
Slim pickings there really, out of the PL players I would go for Pilkington, Brunt and Colback but there aren't many really. Our most important business will obviously be who we manage to keep rather than sign I think, though we will need to sign a fair few obviously.
Think you'l need at least 5 new in when you go up. you gotta trust blockhead though..he's got it right so far
Why at least 5? What positions? Think as I read someone else say somewhere, City's scouting network will already be working on unearthing talent that can play at that level. Was it last time we went up and we sank the majority of our money on Mark Draper? Didn't turn out to well from memory.
I only guessed at 5 because from memory you have a few out of contract & you may well lose a couple to other teams or find that some just cant cut it. You really need to pull out all the stops to keep Kasper as he will (rightly so) be wanted. Not sure who your back up keeper is or if he's any good? Id guess you prob need another forward for back up and certainly a couple in defense. I think every team that gets up brings in a few... You could have SWP, BAE, Zamora & Johnson if you like. all free and i probably drive them there myself....Intrested?
Our backup keeper is rubbish - any injury to Kasper now and I genuinely don't think we'd get promoted.
Hes doing an excellent job warming the bench, can't really call him rubbish, he hasn't let a goal in for us this year! He is training with Kasper though, so lets hope hes picked up a few tricks for if hes ever needed.
Conrad Logan isn't that bad If Kasper did get injured or suspended for a few games we can go into the loan market at any point during the season
Just to gauge opinion (and this in no way gives away my own personal opinions,) but IF Kasper left, would you consider making a bid for Rob Green ?
thats fair enough mate, i was just gauging opinions I seem to remember on a post here a while ago, i think it was the assuming you go up (not sure) a couple of your posters thought it might be a good idea. Personally I'm not a fan but was just wondering. Who would you suggest as a replacement IF he did leave. not oo many good youngish keeps up for grabs i can think of TBH Anyone come to mind?
On the contracts the club havent really showed any urgency to sort out new contract and we was all surprised from out of the blue they activated a clause in Wes Morgan's contract which extended his contract by another year. This is just me guessing but maybe there is clause in other players contracts saying if we get promoted their contracts extend for another year That would explain why they gave Paul Konchesky a new deal rather then letting it run down. If we knew we was likely to be stuck with him then why not try and get him on cheaper terms. From Konch's view its secured his future just incase promotion when tits up If this is the case it would explain why Nigel is so cool about the contract situation and why the owners are really showing urgency to get Pearson, Schmeichel and Nugent on new deals
We are apparently interested in Charlton's young keeper, Ben Hamer http://addickschampionshipdiary.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/hamer-is-transfer-target.html
For the right price i would, but i doubt he would be a cheap option, both with transfer fee and wages.
