Would I be right to say that when a player is not in the team he automatically becomes a better player take, Montrose when he plays he gets moaned and on some occasions got taken off before half time . But when he is not playing or out on loan he is the player we need , maybe I'm the only one ,

I disagree. Montrose is the last player we need. IMO the Midfields we need have both left the club! But not slagging mad dog off for doing it coz I respect his decisions highly!

Mike ....your comment is very contradictory...........you respect his (MA's) decisions (highly), yet you feel that the midfielders we need have been allowed to leave the club. I'm off for a head scratching session on that one.

MikeGills32 - don't be too afraid to stick out your neck. Windyrog is right when he says that your post is contradictory. Despite our current league position, I also have reservations of some recent team selections by MA. For example Essam & Payne not being 'good enough' for a L2 side - but now at clubs 1 & 2 divisions above !! Players like Frampton being preferred - in a position not best suited to his footballing qualities - yet Jackman who would fulfil that midfield role being forced out of the club. Despite our current league position, these decisions are wrong. I hope that MA can justify these mistakes by bringing in replacements who will improve the team.
I also feel that another mistake that MA & the team is making is reverting to hoofball tactics. At the start of the season ( and currently in our away games ) the football is much more controlled and played from the back - thus far less chance of losing posssession to any team that puts 4 or 5 across the back against our lone forward. This means that the ball just keeps coming back towards us. This type of football does not utilise the creative qualities of our midfiled players - as was much more evident at the beginning of the season. If it was working then - why was the system changed ? The decisions by MA were right and put us in our healthy position. My fear is that the wrong decisions that have crept in may jeopardise our final league placing.

There has been a fairly healthy argument all season about the relative merits of Payne/Montrose and Jackman and whichever side of the argument contributors have been on there has always been acknowledgement that each of the three has some merit. However even the sternest of critics would have had a rethink at the prospect of all three of them walking out with no sign of even one equivalent replacement (perhaps Gregory may develop into one equivalent replacement but the signs are not good).
There is a business case to say Payne needs to be turned into a bit of cash but no such arguments exist for the other two.
This is not just MAdness it is extreme MAdnesss.
