Not even gonna start with PVA.

    Mannone.....man-only, man-on knee..?

    .............................................

Oddly enough Coates is coats, his old man is Scottish I believe. A lot make it sound Spanish/South American but I'm sure it's not supposed to be.

I grew up in a partially Flemish speaking community so PVA rolls off the tongue. It was partially Flemish, partially French so Thierry Henry also seems right to me.

Man Oh Nay is how I say Mannone, not sure if that's right.

It's the Eastern European lads who leave me tongue tied. The lad Atletico just signed from Bayern... You what? I can spell it or say it.

Koa-tzi was a ninja knight in 14th century Kyoto.

Everyone knows this, but it's never mentioned 'cos he was never seen.

I do believe you are correct with the Coates pronunciation, was just a daft commentator trying to make it sound foreign and everyones said it the same since

Don't get me wrong, I get it. I just didn't find it funny. Had I asked how to pronounce Bayern it might have felt less forced.

I don't know which commentator it was but it got on my tits when they pronounced Jagielka as Yagielka. He's an English lad whose nickname is Jags, no need to ponce it up.

I heard both Gary Neville and Dwight Yorke pronounce Van Gaal as Van Garl when it's actually Van Harl but with a bit of a noise like you're coughing up some spit on the H. It's definitely not Garl and considering how far Yorke and Neville's noses are up the rectum of Man Utd I'm surprised they haven't bothered to get it right.

Having said that, is it Poyett or Poyay? I've always said Poyett, he's Uraguayan not French, but a lot of pundits say Poyay.
