There's a short item in Neil Ashton's Daily Mail 'Football Column' saying our players are moaning that their training sessions have been increased to two hours and start at 10.00 am. JFH obviously thinks the players are lacking fitness, might that explain why so many late goals are conceded? And if they are moaning about extra training it doesn't auger well for the remainder of the season.

I'd love a well paid job starting at 10.00 am and knocking off at midday...

It has been made a point about this. You could see the same with Liverpool when Klippety Klopp took over. Demanding higher work load and more running, resulting in the players tiring in the final 10-15 minutes and goals being conceded. These things take time but results will slowly but surely improve. That is if the players take this onboard and are willing to work harder. Don't think JFH suffers any fools so the ones that doesn't get along with the program are out. Junior Hoilett is a great example of someone who have applied themselves after JFH took over, increasing their workload in the process and showing wastly improved performances.
    Onwards and upwards, U R'S!

Whether there is any truth to this story, as for Hoilett.

Firstly he improved shockingly below his pay grade to considerably below his pay grade under Warnock

Secondly don't be so naive to think the main factor isn't that his contract is up this summer. He's doing a poor man's Adebayor on us

What is it about our club, that perfectly normal players join and within weeks are poncing about like Julian Clary?

Don't be so cynical, to think he may actually be enjoying JFH's coaching style.

The most surprising thing about this is hearing our professional players do just one hour training a day. My boy's under 13s are happy to do 2 hours every day their coach can get them and some would love to do more.

I actually find it hard to comprehend how professional footballers on the wages that these guys must be on......only doing one hours training a day!!

Some people really dont realise how lucky they are in life.

They have two sessions a day. A morning session, that have now been increased from one hour to two hours, and an afternoon session. So maybe four hours each day.

    I know, tough life.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the 2nd session is just tactics planning in a nice warm room.

Having said that, I must be wrong as judging from most of our performances I don't think tactics play a large part.....

Inclined not to believe this article. Still if our season continues to go badly it's the sort of thing that will stick and evolve chinese whisper style when we all dissect where it all went wrong (although we already know it's SLF's fault).

    <laugh>

Normally the second session will contain tactics and analysis. Depending on match days and rest days.
Hopefully JFH will drive a tougher regime and get the fighting and fitness levels up.

To be completely fair, I find the stairs a challenge some days.

Thanks for the insightful info Norway, and agree with the last comment.

But 1 hour fitness work, maybe 4/5 times a week, no matter how intense, is a bit of a joke.

But I still believe some of the recent performances are down to heavy match schedule, combined with doubling of fitness work.
