If anything, i see this as a good thing. Carver isnt exactly going to sort this out. If a leader in the group arranged this and managed to clear the air/repair certain cracks in relationships between the players then this could only be a positive. I think the players have got to the point where they have been lead by idiots and finally realised if there going to get out of trouble, then they need to stand up and sort it out themselves, start taking some responsibility.

Its proven that players who have good relationships with their colleagues suceed and clubs where everyone is fighting (historically Nufc) you can tell they arent happy in their performances. I in no way shape of form beleive we will, but all we need is one win or two draws and we are safe. Once safe we can start shipping out these absolute £uckers for the $hite they have delievered, the lot of em, Cisse, Krul, Collo, Jonas, R.taylor, Sissoko, Ameobi, Anita, Armstrong, Willo, watch their careers completely £ucking plummet and them disapear into the abyss

This smacks of a certain pre-season friendly v Leyton Orient from a few years ago. After that **** show, the players got together for clear the air talks and weeded out those that didn't want to be here. I suspect probably Krul or Janmaat are behind this. Whoever it is that arranged this [if true], they should be captain.

Wow this set of gutless wonders just continue to sink deeper and deeper with every passing media blurt. I have to say that the Telegraph story has no actual factual basis, and nor does this story about them locking Carver out of a meeting.

I just don't buy into the media hype and this desire to create a 'storm'.

In some ways I hope all this is going on and they are getting their act together. A bit of siege mentality would be nice to see. Sadly having seen these players operate over the last couple of years, I doubt they have the cojones to sort this **** out.

I suppose all the media hysteria passes the time.

it's absolutely the right thing for the players to do. "Guys, let's decide now who's up for this and who isn't, then we'll decide between us who's going to do what for the next 3 games." If it means we've got to rely on Sterry, Roberts, Armstrong, Satka and Kemen then fcking do it. Put eleven players out with commitment, fearlessness and a desire to beat the team in front of them. If Sissoko, or Coloccini, or whoever, don't fancy it, don't fcking play. Fck off home, pick up some fines but cut the cancer from the club, whoever they are.

I also think it's time to just park the protests. Get a singing section involved, get some anti-Ashley and anti-Charnley stuff (forget Charver, the sad tw@t shouldn't be anywhere near the job, you have to blame the fcking clown that put him there) blasting out. Players won't care or understand the words, it's the noise they need. It's not about loving an individual or conflicting emotion it's about taking that word used by the pathetic, fat penfold-lookalike and ramming them down his throat. You're fcking right it's "our" club, you sad little bastad, and you better be aware that we will be the ones to save it but will not suffer your bullsh1t any more.

Don't think we are going to have much choice over what team to put out anyway due to no defenders!

    Cheers, <ok> thanks for this
it's all speculation though isn't it
I mean the infamous 'source' that was there,
and the same 'source' that was earwigging into Carver's talk with Ashley
the only people I would think that could have all or any of that information, would be Carver himself Charnley or Ashley
so I wonder which one is the 'source'

or could it be the reporter just bullshitting

You know what, its probably utter bollocks, BUT such is my state of mind at the minute, I would belive anything like this. And they have form with this sort of meeting, remember after Leyton Orient friendly. And also a few weeks after that i was playing golf at Slaley Hall when the players were there also, and Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan were talking about going on strike. They were in the bar with Alan Smith, Carroll, Harper and Nicky Butt and I was sitting behind them listening. Carroll wasnt playing he was just boozing cos he didnt play golf then. They were fecking slagging Ashley off, big time. I could not catch all of the conversation but Barton was going mental, `F**k him`, he said,` lets go strike and then see what he says`. I have no idea what it was about cos nowt happened and it was never mentioned in any press or rumour boards. But I told everyone about it asap, I thought the team was about to revolt. And you know what, I thought, YESSS!!!! Fecking go for it!!!

They're all on strike now anyway, if the last couple of months are any gauge.

For me, all eyes and comments should be on Charnley, for two reasons. First, culpability - if he has a lot of say on decisions, then he's almost solely responsible for the current mess and indeed much of the mess that went on before. He's the guy who helped sell Cabaye and didn't replace, he's the guy who allowed Kinnear in the building. I am unaware of any owner in any walk of life going expressly against the wishes of his or her most senior director and decision maker. Perhaps we're different, which is reason two; if Charnley is literally doing nothing more than bending to the whims of Ashley, if he has no budget to replace people like Donachie, Kinnear (I know, but he was officially a DOF), or Pardew himself, if he has no say in whether he can plan for a future with a better manager, if his hands are utterly tied behind HIS back by the owner, THEN HE NEEDS TO FCKING SAY SO!!!!!

Everybody with clout in this industry should be after answers from this fcking guy. The fans forum, the media, the pundits, the moneymen, what is Charnley doing and why?

exactly. all this vitriol against carver is completely and utterly pointless and mostly misdirected anyway..emphasis on mostly as he hasnt helped himself one bit, but im even willing to cut him some slack there due to the incredible pressure he is obviously under.

he shouldnt be in the job, it was a trainwreck waiting to happen, we obviously werent secure of our prem league status at new year and some foresight was needed. All of that is down to Ashley.

Mate, I will repeat ad-infinitum that Charnley is far from exempt here. I have a modicum of sympathy for Carver purely because he should be nowhere near the position he's in, but I have none for Charnley - the man is a despicable disgrace not fit to be associated with a club like ours, in any capacity. Only a two-bob careless w@nker like Ashley would even consider him a suitable employee but I implore everyone to put the eye of Mordor on that fcker. He's a complete and total fraud - I need to know if he conned Ashley, or whether the two are complicit. The fact is if a nobody like penfold is put under enough heat, he'll crack. There's no way a back-office tea boy is going to be prepared to take a media and fan onslaught - if he's to blame, he'll fcking fix things, and if he's a puppet he'll point a finger. We need fcking answers.

I draw reference to the Fans Forum meeting - club (Charnley) sent a letter saying it would be brought forward. No date has been given, no more has been said - that's not Ashleys doing, he doesn't have time for the minutiae of managing this miniscule part of his empire. Charnley's had a fcking free ride and we ALL need to get on him, stop pi$$ing on Carver, that idiot finally gets it. He knows he can't do it, he knows he's not wanted by either fans nor players, so that job is done.
