These are notable players released by Town between 2012 - 2018. One or two of the early ones may have not been Mick, some of them retired or are well past it by 2018. Maybe one or two of them are not free transfers and the records / sources are wrong. It begs a big question though. Why did we sign so many players that we didn't want in the side and that nobody wanted to buy? It begs another question, particularly when we are short of players despite signing 9 - who should we have kept hold of? I'm sure there is a promotion winning XI amongst this lot. Your free transfer XIs please....

Out of all those players only one has done better since he left town, and that's leadbitter . Marriott has yet to do anything at this level, and in any case, I thought he looked poor when at Woking, so I could see why he was released . In saying that , in not too sure what your point is though . Every team sign players that turn out to be duds
Bit harsh on Damien Delaney, who went on to help Palace get promoted and had a couple of decent seasons in the Premier League. But yeah, not many success stories from that bunch. Some of those signed were short term freebies, mainly to help provide cover for injuries. The bottom of that list looks pretty unappealing, makes you appreciate the clearing out job Mick had to do when he first came. Too many mercenaries, not that you can blame them for picking up an easy pay cheque.
Worst full back in the history of football but a superstar at CB. Jaime Peters I thought was a fantastic player. Always gave 100%, a great engine, not particularly a defender, I think he would have scared defences if he had had more opportunities further forward. A few of these I felt were wasted potential especially Josh Carson. A few - like Paul Anderson and Jack Marriott - would really benefit the current squad and Tommy Smith given our lack of options at CB, I'm sure he'd have loved to stay at Town. There is some experienced quality there in the areas that our current squad is weak that would have made the transition easier. But so many rubbish players - my point was that a well run club shouldn't have such a high turnover of zero value players. But overall I just found it quite interesting. Some of the players in the squad now - especially I would imagine the reserve full backs - are heading for a similar fate.
Peters “fantastic “ - heard it all now. Had a good run at rb but poor on a wing. Agree Delaney way better cb than lb!!!
