With Kevin Phillips joining isn't it about time we started offloading? All the talk has been of the signings but we are overloaded with strikers at the moment. any ideas if this is the end of either Wood or Nugent? Cant see Vardy leaving with his recent form and that leaves GTF too.

    I think Waggy will go.

That'd leave us with 4 out and out strikers.

    Nugent - Vardy - Wood - Phillip

Then we'd have GTF to play in 'the hole'. With Schlupp being the jack of all trades in case of injury.

If you get promoted , and it's looking highly likely, how many of those 4 would you expect to be binned off ?

Also what length of contract has Phillips been given?

GTF and Phillips have contracts until june so I suppose they'll be the first to go.

Then I can see, if he doesn't go in Jan, Waghorn leaving and Schlupp following on a loan.

Which would leave us with Nuge, Vardy and Wood. I imagine we'd then bring in a new striker to leave us with 4, the magic number.

We've got a proven striker who might be looking for a new challenge.

Anyone at your club speak German?

Yeah, as I posted on your forum the other day, I think you've made a right statement signing Jelavic.

I think Bruce will get his confidence back just as Martinez was starting to do.

and I ****ing hope not <laugh>

If he finds some confidence and form he'll be a blinding signing.

It was only a couple of years ago I put money on him to be top scorer in the Euro's and now we've signed him, granted he did f**k all during the tournament but I've always rated him.

Good luck for the rest of the season boys, hopefully we'll be crossing swords again pretty soon.

Amazing to think we had a 7m bid rejected for him in 2011 too.

I'm guessing you got him at a fairly cut price?

Surprised Everton made a profit but I still think he'll be worth it.

6.5 million is a pretty good price for a proven PL scorer; there aren't really that many around. Consider some of the bloated prices for strikers recently, eg. Torres, Carroll. When we were looking to sign him for around that amount he'd only played Scottish football- playing in the PL considerably adds to value.

    Logan Konchesky
    St Ledger
    Gallager
    Bayayogo
    Wasilewsky
    King
    G.T-F
    Waghorn
    Hopper
    Phillips
    Wood
    Fuctas
    Whitbread

If we go up I would clear out Konchesky, Whitbread, Hammond, St. Ledger, Waghorn, Danns, Gallagher, Bakoyogo, Taylor-Fletcher, Wasilewski and Futacs

    No one else

They'd be on my 'could leave at the right price' list.

To be fair, I think that anyone struggling to get into the team now will have little to no chance in the Prem.

This is why I included Wood & King. They´ve been good for us at this level in the past but with the way we´re playing at the mo these 2 are spectators now so what chance IF we´re in the prem ? may be back up at the very most.

If we get promoted and change the team/squad too much it only increases the chances of getting relegated

Get rid of the players who cant cut it and bring some new blood in. Player like King and Wood could play a role so we need to keep them at least for now
