Now that our players are in the spotlight, our players are getting linked away by bigger clubs. Obviously this isn't official, but if journalists are starting to notice our players, then managers from other clubs almost certainly will. When I saw this on NewsNow, I assumed one of the 5 would have been Schneiderlin who is actually in the Fellani mould, but Lallana? http://hereisthecity.com/2012/09/11/5-potential-replacements-for-maraoune-fellaini-at-everton/
Other clubs will have scouting departments that expand beyond the Premier League, a number of our players will have been on a number of radars for a long time. Journalists are only just catching on because the average reader doesn't give a toss about lower league teams.
Well it's flattering to see Lallana being touted as a replacement for Fellaini. He's a top player. Lallana won't be interested in a move away, so I'm not worried. I think Huddlestone and Donovan would be very smart signings for them. Jovetic might be a little too optimistic.
There is this myth that his favourite club is Everton because he has occasionally gone to watch them play, with mates. Lallana used to watch Saints from the stands. However, he can hardly now go and watch his favourite club, can he..? Because he's playing for it..! So if he wants to indulge in watching football, he has to do it for another club.
His contract runs out in 2016, I doubt he'll leave anytime soon. Everton are lucky that they've got such a good player on normal wages (I'm guessing they're not over the top).
Actually I think one of his mates on Twitter "outed" him as a childhood Everton fan before swiftly reassuring everybody that he was fully a Southampton fan now.
Yeah, and who's to say that isn't a complete load of crap too. Let's face it, you didn't get that information first hand..? So whispers and rumours gain ground and become fact. It's all twaddle, imo. Being born in St Albans, he's could just as likely have been a Watford, Luton or even a Stevenage fan. Or originally a fan of any of the North London clubs. Just as plausible as being an Everton fan.
I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say. Lallana's personal friend comments on him being a childhood Everton fan (if I remember correctly, while they were watching an Everton game together) which is pretty much first hand, certainly not "whispers and rumours", yet you're acting with the same level of denial as when a child finds out Santa Claus isn't real? If I told you one of my close personal friends is an Arsenal fan would you not believe me because he lives in Hampshire so therefore could just as plausibly be an Aldershot fan?
Well they're better than Bournemouth. But like most pro footballers they aren't exactly season ticket regulars because they've probably been playing every Saturday since they were ten.
