http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-boss-explains-set-players-committee Ian Holloway has told QPR’s website he has set up a players’ committee to help the “dressing room to run itself.” The Rangers manager says he wants a seven-man committee to discuss issues with him on behalf of the playing squad. Nedum Onuoha, James Perch, Jamie Mackie, Matt Smith, Alex Smithies and Ryan Manning will be part of the group, with one more player set to be added. “We have got a committee now who are actively involved in what we do and how we do it. I want their input,” Holloway said. “There are six members at the minute, and I will soon be increasing that to seven. I want it to be an odd number so that when they vote on something, there’s a clear decision from them when I need it. “Other times, I will explain my decisions over certain matters to them, and they will go out and explain to the rest of the group. They will take on responsibility for that. “If there’s an issue, for instance a disciplinary matter, I will have that group in and explain what needs to be done and why it needs to be done. They can then explain my reasons for the decision I’ve made. “This helps the dressing room to run itself, to govern itself. I want them to be part of what I’m trying to build here.”
So that means Ned our wonderful lead from the front captain is staying. And NO NO NO the fish is staying.
...and it gives the manager someone else to blame when we're nailed to the bottom of the division at Christmas. Looking for a seventh player? Shame Joey left, he's all we need to make this idea a great success. Presumably, this kind of players' representation committee has a precedent in football ie it's working at a Barcelona or Bayern Munich, and is not just something Holloway's dreamed up in the bath?
Have just posted on another thread, more smokescreens with the blind leading the blind. Maybe he wanted a dressing room to run itself cause he can't? He's an idiot. When it all turns pear shape, will the board sack the dressing room or the manager? But of course.
Great. Just what we need. Official 'cliques' in the d/room, creating havoc so Manager can pass the buck.
Does it need a player's committee to work out you whack the ball upfield in the direction of Matt Smith and hope for the best? I really do fear for us and we won't have to wait till Christmas...
Why stop at a mere 7, 25 is also an odd number? Management by committee because the man in charge can't hack it.
In years to come this will be known as 'a Holloway' and will be the set up of every major club/national side that wins things.
Sounds like a good idea if a big majority of the players buy into it. He should have 2 non Brits in there though.
Dave Mac suggesting this isn't anything new or unusual, maybe we're potentially making a mountain out of a molehill.
Yes, it may be the most exciting thing that happens this transfer window. Next week - NewsNowQPR reports Holloway is redecorating his office
