After yesterday's game it got me thinking about players attitudes, Hamer and Morrison were screaming at the ref for much of the game yesterday trying to get it called off whereas players such as Church, Cousins and Harriott just got on with the match. Having said that, it appeared to be affecting the former much more and made their duties much harder. But do you recon if Hamer and Morrison were like Cousins and Harriott the game would have stayed on?

To be honest, it sounds like it should never have started, so I don't know if the shouting helped.

I don't accept that abandoning the match was necessarily to Charlton's advantage. After a nightmare start we were getting on top and had every chance of earning one point, if not all three, against ten men and with Doncaster having to defend the swimming pool end.

Hamer and Morrison were struggling and probably wanted the match wiped out of their records and memories, expecting to do better when it gets replayed. Church would have wanted his goal to stand and might have fancied his chances of getting one or two more against ten men defending a treacherous goal area.

Harriott and Cousins are young and just want to play. When I ran youth football teams the boys never wanted matches called off whatever the conditions, even when dangerous.

Did anyone see John Ryan storming around the place? Colin Powell was getting very irked!

According to the BBC the Harriotts were in 2 minds about it.

This nonsense about the conditions is a huge distraction. I have been at games played in far worse. The reason our goal mouth was muddier than there's was because the ball and opposition players spent more time in ours. As with Boro and Bournemouth, the Donny players looked technically better than ours, certainly better in possession.

If the players are planning to leave at the end of the season, surely they will want to put themselves in the shop window by firing us into the play-offs.

If professional pride is not enough to galvanise oneself, then surely the incentive of moving to a financially stable club is.

If not, then these players do not deserve to wear the hallowed shirt and should all be replaced by the kids.

I can't imagine any player will make a conscious decision to go out on a Saturday and not try his best. On the other hand you will probably be less likely to see those same players make a lung-busting run up the park into a position where they might not even get the ball. We saw this sort of thing in Parky's (or pardew's) last games, players not getting into position to receive the ball resulting in the long-ball stuff. Fans are not so stupid that they can't see when this is happening. Without the team-spirit we showed last season this team is heading south rapidly. PEA is right that The Doctor should only put out players who are committed, but I wonder how he, and the rest of the management team, feel about the fact that their efforts over the last 2 seasons are obviously not appreciated by their employers? I wonder how they'd feel about an offer from a more appreciative employer?

There's no loyalty in football anymore. Both managers and players are only as good as their recent performances.

If Powell got a better offer elsewhere he'd be off. As would ever member of the playing staff.

To think otherwise us simply nieve...!!

I know that he is not much loved by everyone on here <steam>, but Rick Everitt stated over the weekend that there had been concern at senior levels within the clubabout the players wages being met. Someone else reported seeing two of our players "jumping with joy" when talking about getting paid on time.

I think we have to assume that all is not well at the Club

I think we've all assumed that for sometime Vol.

However, we will never know how much of a state until such time as the s**t hits the fan.

Like it or not, we the fans are not and will not be privvy to such information. We therefore have no alternative but to have faith that our board will do the right thing by their investment.

Can't see it. Our owners have got about as much genuine interest in Charlton as I have in buying a new house in Thamesmead.

It astounds me that Rick would make such an assertion concerning wage information with his employment hearing pending. It is extremely prejudicial to cafc holdings to make that allegation on a public board. It may just come back and bite him on the arse.
