sorry i've only just got round to this Mike, had a busy day at work and also had this site blocked for a while due to the global message going out, found I had spam emails go out to just about any email address ever held on my computer...

ok here are my ratings, I didn't have a very good view I was only 5 rows from the front so was hard to oversee the whole game especially at the far end.

Hamer 6 - mostly made routine saves, punched clear a few corners & crosses clear
Solly 6 - generally solid but looked in trouble when players ran at him like Carlisle did
Wiggins 6 - generally went un-noticed but I like my fullbacks to go un-noticed as it means they are playing well
Taylor 8 - won a lot of headers and led the defence very well
Morrison 7 - was solid at the back
Hughes 7 - won quite a few tackles and generally solid, has shut a lot of us up with his last 2 performances now
Hollands 8 - a world class through ball to BWP for the 2nd goal, the kind of pass Danny Murphy used to play
Jackson 6 - generally a bit quiet but made the keeper work with a great free kick that a lot of times would have gone in
Green 8 - my man of the match, delivered a series of quality crosses and free kicks
BWP 8 - took his goals fantastically well even if he didn't do much else i'd take this anytime
Kermit 7 - general nuisance up front, won a fair amount of headers and forging a very good partnership with BWP

subs came on too late to have any impact on the game

I think this is a pretty good assessment Martinho, made all the more difficult by the contrast between the performance in the two halves.

All I'd do is give one extra to Solly and Wiggins and drop one from Green. My MoM would be Hollands - that through ball was just beautiful.

Hamer still scares the life out of me. He suddenly gets an attack of the jobbles for no apparent reason and it goes on for a while - some of his punching and handling of crosses in the second half last night was none too clever.

Totally agree with your comments about Hughes as well. Rock solid last night and as big a contrast with his performance against Brentford as you could imagine.

I love the word JOBBLES, Tewks.

Hughes and Hollands were excellent. They create a solid core so that the flair players can do their business with protection.

Wiggins has developed brilliantly, of late. He must be getting the right guidance from CP - a fine left-back, himself.

I must admit that I was bemused by Kermit's heading on his first couple of matches, but since then he has been superb - a real class act. His link-up play with BWP will only get better and the goals will flow.

    All good stuff. COYR!

It's from Michael Green's "The Art of Coarse Golf", Ponders and describes the uncontrollable jerking, trembling and gibbering of a coarse golfer when faced with a dead straight six inch putt to win the hole. Very funny book.

Just looked at the highlights again and didn't realise what a good layoff that was from Kermorgant to Hollands for him to play that killer pass to BWP - beautiful.

Swindon fan at work recommended that I take a look at their two vs. The Gills on Tuesday and they're both well worth watching. Absolute screamer, the first one.
