Just got home from the game and as i guess the rest of us who were there wont be back yet I thought id do the honours. As usual these are my own opinions, you are all entitled to differing opinions blah blah blah.

Davis 7 - Looked solid although some of the usual tense moments with his distribution
Richardson 6 - Solid, nothing special really, i think he struggled with Puncheon's bad positioning...
Hooiveld 8 - Good goal, won his headers
Fonte 9 - Fantastic assist! What a team him and Hooiveld are! Nothing was getting past them tonight. One slight hiccup clearing the ball from a corner could have caused a problem but luckily it didnt.
Fox 7 - Made some key tackles and worked well with Lallana/Guly
Puncheon 4 - Oh dear. Poor positioning, bad decisions, bad shooting and a couple of ghost passes. Left Richardson wide open a couple of times by not covering while he overlapped.
Cork 6 - Nice header in to Fonte for the goal but misplaced a few passes today
Schneiderlin MOTM 9 - Bossed the midfield. Made several key tackles and some brilliant passing.
Lallana 7 - Would be 8 but im -1 for the open goal he missed. Terrorised the full backs and looked dangerous on the ball.
Lambert 6.5 - Held up the ball well and won some long ball headers but didnt look himself today. Spent too much time out on the wings and when our wingers won the ball had nobody to cross in to, especially in the second half when he was alone up front
Guly 8 - A performance to shut the haters up i thought. Held the ball up well, worked hard, showed his flair and passed the ball intelligently.

    Subs:
Steeeeeeeve 7 - Looked lively and did his job injecting some energy and buzz into the side. A can of pop indeed. Good impact
Hammond 6 - Not really on long enough but made some good tackles.
    Harding 6 - Same

The "w**ker in the hat" 1 - if you are going to offer a saints fan out, dont do it from the hull stand while stood behind 5 police officers with 3 of your mates. Hard man.

Cork was solid I'd give him a 7, apart from that I tend to agree with you.

Guly given the free role in the hole behind Lambert is class.

What can you expect when it was his first appearance since 3rd of march for puncheon. give him a run of games and he will come good.

Would tend to agree with the above ratings .....if being really picky I might mark Lambert down to a 6 as he really didnt look himself. I would also like to give Lallana the benefit of doubt and say that the ball bobbled on that god awful pitch just before he struck it! For me as well a fan who is really not sure about the wonder that is Guly he really did put in a good shift for the team.

Speaking to a Hull fan outside in the car park and he was saying that we were the best team he had seen all season.

    This.

As they said on Radio Solent, you can't expect a player to come straight in from the stands into the XI and play as well as they can (chaplow, puncheon, harding to name a few)
