I was thinking about how many good Premiership quality central defenders we have now, and it could be argued that McShane has gone from the bottom of the pile to No. 2 with stiff opposition. IMO at the moment the order is: 1. Davies 2. McShane 3. Faye 4. Chester (based on past reputation and potential only) 5. Bruce (based on only one game) 6. Figueroa (hasn't let us down, but he's a more natural left back) Does anyone agree? And what are your rankings for each position?
He's holding his own very well at the moment, and we haven't seen any of his calamities for some time. Long may it continue.
Horses for courses with Faye. Some games he'd get torn a new one with his old legs, other games he'll be the dominant beast we all know. Davies Chezzy Macca Bruce Faye Figgy Is the order I'd choose centre halves, though if we're going 3 at the back Figgy shoots right up the list.
Spot on. I know Sturridge didn't play but had he have done then Faye would have got pulled all over the place by the movement of SAS. I'd stick him and Bruce at the back for Arsenal cause Giroud just doesn't have that kind of movement and after getting owned in the air, it'll disrupt using him for target/link up play.
