Well this is a refreshing way to start the morning.

Probably helps his team were already 2-0 up, but would love to see this more often. Hope his manager didn't crucify him afterwards.

The cynic in me wonders if he owned up just because it was so obviously a dive that he would have been too embarrassed by the replays after the game. However it's refreshing to see and just might make a few others think - but I'm not holding my breath!

Good on him, would love this to have the right effect throughout the game but I fear not.

good to see - im too much of a die hard football fan to give it all up but all the money thats flooded into the modern game has made it disconnected from the bread and butter fan and created a culture of cheating and dishonesty. its a small gesture but a step in the right direction - well done that man!

Did he dive or did he trip himself up? The BBC is sensationalist these days so their headline will pull in more readers. "Player tells ref his foot trailed across floor" doesn't really have a ring to it.

<laugh> why would any player dive and then own up....He probably made such a mess of it that it was obvious to everyone and thought he had better say something in light of players being heavily fined..<laugh>
