Right, we've had a disastrous season but we'll still have a player of the year...so who's yours and why???

I'll start us off by saying my vote goes to Cisse.

He's fed off scraps all year yet still scored goals, some important ones at that. Yes he's missed some sitters, but he's always brave enough to get in those scoring positions over and over. He didn't sulk when out wide earlier in the season, he's passionate about the club and fans and always gives 100%.

If I was to rate his season I'd say 7/10 which in itself says everything you need to know about our season when he then gets my vote for player of the year.

Actually the more I think about it, who could you select as player of the season?

Krul - injured for a fair bit and form not as good
Elliot - Fat and not that good.
Simpson - Not really played much
Debuchy - Been fairly poor, only joined mid season
Santon - Started like a train. Was then our worst player costing us countless goals between Nov and his injury. And Benfica.
Colo - Played well but missed most of the season. And dropped a bombshell at a bad time.
Saylor - Played fairly well but again missed huge chunks.
Willo - Tried his heart out. But ability wise well...........
MYM - Hit and miss. Only arrived in January.
Haidara - Only arrived in January, done ok.
    Raylor - :emoticon-0106-cryin
Tiote - Missed huge chunks. Bogey man stolen his ability to pass the ball 5 yards.
Perchino - Solid when he has played.
Cabaye - Missed huge chunks, and only came alive for a short spell after Xmas. Then he was ****e.
Anita - Tough start, looked like a donkey. Picked up the pace and did well only to be rudely ignored by Pardew.
Sissoko - Only arrived in January. Looked the best thing sliced bread initially. Then found to have a weak heart. In his defence Pardew should have rested him.
Gosling - Slowest man on the planet. Worlds slowest creatue in fact. Pointless.
Bigi - Still got loads to learn but he is a trier and there is plenty to work with.
Marveaux - Injured a lot. Done ok at times but still doesn't convince his heart is really in it.
HBA - Who? Barely seen the lad. Looked good at times and clearly our biggest talent but poor season.
Obertan - Massive head. Like huge planet sized head. Not very good.
Jonas - It appears he is in decline. Well liked by the fans who all love he is still in the side......
Gouffran - Only arrived in January but done alright. Puts a shift, grabbed a couple of goals. Alarming drop off in 2nd half of games but needs time.
Shola "charlatan" Ameobi - Deserves credit for fooling another manager. Can't believe his luck.
Cisse - Has tried hard (bit of a minimum requirement but immediately ranks him above others). Offside a crazy amount. Not sure there is a lot between those lugs to be honest. Has scored a few goals though, some very important ones too.
Campbell - We haven't seen much of him but I still think he looks a talent.

Vuckic - Having an affair with Derek Wright
Alfie - Joins Obertan in the sacrebleu category
Tav - Seems to have disappeared
Sammi - Promised to be a better Ameobi. Not so sure now...........
Harps - Still the calmest man on the planet

All said and done its a tough call. I was gonna go Cisse or Saylor. But then it came to me, its so obvious.

Demba Ba - Top scorer. Kept us up <laugh>

This is a really good idea. Why didn't I think of this instead of a really long post on another thread <laugh>

Player of the year - Raylor. He probably did more in his brief time than the others

Coloccini. For me, he's the only reason we're still in the division.

    I second Demba Ba <laugh>

I'd vote Obi Wan, I mean Dan Gosling, but funny though he is, what a terrible footballer.

I'd be close to voting Cisse the worst player this season, purely because he's been dreadful in my opinion. He's missed sitter after sitter (that's right, two sitters we've made for him <laugh>), and offers nothing but a bit of running to a team woefully bereft of (fit) midfield talent. Offside soooooooo much... Jesus...
The actual winner would be Cabaye though. What a horrible season he's had... And people link him to Man Utd? Where do we sign?

Seriously though no one matched Demba's level. I'd hand on heart vote him. To think some were glad he went too.......

I wouldn't say anyone was glad he went, more that him going was the lesser of two evils. No player is bigger than the club etc and at the time we were all hoping Cisse would be back to his best once played up top instead of out wide.

Plenty wanted him gone saying he was greedy. Not that we had a choice but it left us with one PL standard striker which was a massive handicap. Regardless of any thoughts on Pards no one would sanely argue that turning round to see Shola smiling at you is not frightening. At least if we'd had him, Pards may have finally accepted one or the other or Demba wide. Either way we should never have one striker ever again, not acceptable.

Can't disagree with that. So lucky that Cisse didn't get injured this season.

It seems ironic as we've conceded 67 goals, but ....

My vote has to go to the player who has done the best for us consistently throughout the whole season. And that is Tim Krul. He'd be embarrassed to receive this though ...

Cisse for his goals. 7 where cruelly ruled offside.
