In a season where there has been too much inconsistency, my nomination goes to Danny Jackman - in the main he has used his experience wisely- although I recognise that there have been others who have ( too infrequently ) shown better moments than DJ.
I believe there is a category for best young player - that would be hard to call - between Gazza & Essam - probably shaded by PG.

brb - where is your nomination ?

I would give it to charlie lee, think he has been different class, was a very good signing at the start of the season and he hasn't disappointed in my opinion.

Jackman....not selected in August. Missed just 3 games since August while the rest of them waved their sicknotes or, worse still, sat out avoidable suspensions.

alwaysright - sorry, I know it is customary to open your own thread with the relevant topic selections, however, more recently I have tended to avoid doing that and post later, in an attempt to avoid setting any tone to the thread.

Anyway here goes now we are off the starting block...

Heart says Paulo Gazzaniga, just because he seems such a lovable guy and he has added energy and a bit of spark to the Gillingham side. Who ever thought that I would like someone that lumps the ball down field! Something that is completely against the grain for me.

Brain says Danny Jackman, he probably will not like me saying this but he has taken to that left back role as though he owns it. Jokingly and completely tongue in cheek, who ever thought that a garden gnome could be so useful.

Obviously I could speak of Tomlin and Essam but this is for the year and without a doubt my brain is writing this and says...

    DANNY JACKMAN

For consistency and keeping a cool head when others about them were losing theirs, I think you have to give it to Danny Jackman, who towers above (ironic height-related pun very much intended) the rest.

I know there's a top three placed and to be honest it will be very difficult to pick others around him to fill those places. Possibly the likes of Tomlin and Charlie Lee will also be in there.

Young player of the year definitely between Gazzaniga and Connor Essam.

Away supporters player of the year, anyone who frequently goes wish to comment?

Goal of the year...perhaps Jackman away at Hereford? Payne at Barnet?

It is a toss up between Jackman and Payne...

Ermm... I am going to go for Payne as we missed him more when he wasn't in the team than we missed Jackman

has to be Jackman, has been great when actually allowed to play in midfield, but has still done good for us when he's been (frequently) played out of position.
    Certainly our most consistent performer.

Jackman for me. Despite many calling for him to be sold last summer he has been our most consistent performer this season. Kedwell second and Whelpdale 3rd.

Young player would be Between Payne, Gazza and Essam.

I would go for them in this order

1st Danny Jackman- He has been great for us this season, started the season transfer listed and proved that he is great.
2nd Charlie Lee- Apart from all the yellows he has been great.
3rd Jack Payne- He would be top of young players, he may still be young but he has been in our team so much I don't regard him as a young player really, otherwise it would be Whelpdale who did not have the best start but has been great in the last 10 games making it to 9 goals which is good for a midfielder, I think he is doing the job now and is one of the best midfielders in our league.

    Young player of the year
    1st Gazzaniga
    2nd Connor Essam
    3rd Ashley Miller/ Jack Evans

Only one winner as every one else has been too inconsistent

young player has to be Essam
C Lee should have been close but too many bookings have cost us.
    1st Jackman
    2nd Payne
    3rd Kedwell
I think if C Lee and Whipdale played better we would have been in the top 3 now, as they should be playing at a higher level.
