This has probably already been done but as I said earlier, I have just arrived after 606 stopped. Just wanted to know who thinks who should gt Player of Season? For me it is between 4 main competitiors (although every player has done thei bit): Wes Hoolahan- Has been awesome and left so many other players for dead. We look to have a huge lack of creativity when he isnt on the pitch. There isnt a player in the league I would rather have (even Taraabt). Forthis reason, he gets my vote Andrew Crofts- Not always the prettiest footballer but that said, he is by no means a slogger. Chipped in with good goals, made some very important tackles and turns in consistantly good performances every game. R. Martin- I admit, I was one of the "oh for heavens sake get him off" people last season. I did think he was awful. Well... egg on my face! The most improved player since Iwan Roberts went from Dog to God following a terrible first season. Martin, like Crofts has chipped in with some extremely important goals and assists. He works hard up the right hand side and rarely puts a foot wrong. Is it me or has he got a hell of a lot quicker this season? Brilliant. Grant Holt- The one and only. Will probably get it if only for his hatrick vs Ipsquit. Has banged goals in all season and been a pain in every defences backside as always. For me it would be nice for someone else to get it after he got it last year, but it wold also be nice for him to join the City elite in winning it twice. Simion Jackson has an outside chance after his amazing run of form at te end of the season, a little too late for him to win though IMO. Deserves a mention. Not wanting to toot my own horn but before xmas myself and my dad were onthe way to a game and I said to him that though Jackson has not been playing well, his goals will prove vital at the end of the season! Well what do ya know? lol Im happy to be right for once! Thoughts? OTBC
Holt for me, not just for his goals but his overall game. His influence is huge. He is a driving force that inspires the team. He has been a defenders worst nightmare this season. He creates space for other players like Jackson and also pulls off a lot of great assists. P.S Yes a hatrick against the scum on national tv helps!!
R. Martin for me. Played every minute of every game, set up goals, defended them, scored them and caused all kinds of problems for the opposition.
