Seeing as all but two voted for Ruddy and Holt in the other poll I thought I would start a new thread with them omitted as it would be more interesting. This would essentially establish who gets third place.
Still a tough decision, but I'd say Rusty. Naughton, Fox, Benno and Pilkington take him close. The others haven't played enough to justify a vote.
Brilliant idea Hmmmm, this is going to be really tough! I would say that each of Pilks, Bennett, Rusty, Surman, Fox, Whitbread, Drury and Naughton have had far better seasons than Lee Croft did the year he won it. You can probably add Wes, Tierney, Morison (yes, he has scored ten very important goals) and even Howson to that list if that was the criteria. However if I have to choose one I'll probably have to go with - crikey this is tough, just changed my mind four times just writing this sentence - er, I think probably because he's got eight goals from midfield and has never looked out of place, Pilkington But it so easily could have been Rusty, Benno or Surman! What a season, what an absolutely incredible season!! I sure can't 'alf wait for the next one
For me its Russ, pretty easily actually, fact i really thought he should have got it last year. He's been incredible this season the way he reads the game at CB is fantastic and he's held his own against some of the best players in the world out of his position, arsenal at home in particular he was amazing.
Naughton for me. Most consistent compared to the others over the season IMO. Russell Martin a close second.
Deliberately omitted Holt and Ruddy due to the outcome of the other thread, just thought it would be interesting to see who people would otherwise vote for.
Lee Croft! What a disgrace that was! Although not much to choose from. Clingan should have got it IMO that season.
I see on my own but ive put adam drury! I think hes been unbelievable considering the fact he barely got any game time before tierney's injury and to come in at his age and play the way he has, has been just superb
Drury is a very good call indeed, hasn't let us down at all and has put in some solid performances whenever called upon
They've all been so brilliant, that I am taking logic out the window and just going for my favourite player. Fox gets my vote. Elliot Bennett came close too, think he is probably the most hard working player and provided us with memory of the season at White Hart Lane.
Voted for Rusty on the original poll but admit I did not consider Drury. Reading the thread gave me pause for thought but I have stayed with my original pick.
As I said on the full vote thread, I'm less interested in individual players, than the team, so all get players of the season. This is partly because I can't really understand the adulation of players (I realise I'm odd in this regard) and will always sing louder for the team than for any player.
Really could be any number of them. Went for Benno, not necessarily because he has been the best player, but he has an outstanding attitude towards playing football. Played several positions, always gives his all and works as hard as anyone. While he is a winger and good at going forward, his defensive work from this position is some of the best in the league. Could become a really top player
I agree with you on Bennett, fantastic attitude and could go far. Been quite an unsung hero this season, think he has the most assists in the team, if he'd had a few more goals I reckon we will be saying he should be going to Euros aswell.
