In my opinion, you can't look past Lambert when it comes to the player of the season award. He has done incredibly and is the league's top scorer by a way.

We are not a one-man team in the slightest, but in certain games he has rescued/won us many points. (Barcelona without Messi's 60-odd goals this season wouldn't be where they are, yet they are not labelled a one-man team? Same with Madrid and Ronaldo!?)

Anyway, other than Lambert, who is up there as our best player this season?

Lallana has been class, but he is always class and for that reason I am going for someone else. Hooiveld has probably been one of our best signings this season and has developed a really good relationship with the fans. He is class, but I'm going for Schneiderlin. I think he is technically very good and has a range of passes. Not afraid of a challenge here and there either. If we were to get promoted, he would flourish.

SKD for me....he has probably earned the most points, apart from Rickie, with his saves at vital times and seems to be getting better with age.

Lambert is clearly the stand out performer in terms of goals, assists and all round play. When he is not in the team it is evident how much we miss him! But Lambert aside its a tricky one indeed. SKD has been superb. The full-backs have countless assists. The CB's have kept many clean sheets and as a defensive unit we have conceded the second least amount of goals this season (only one more than Hull i think). As an attacking unit we are the highest goalscorers in the league. Beyond Lambert, its incredibly difficult to pick one other stand out player because they have all played a massive part in our fantastic season to date. However if I had to pick, I would go for SKD. Fantastic character who has stuck with the club through thick and thin, and he has been brilliant so far this season. I love you SKD

In December/January I would have said Richardson. However, I have been hugely impressed with Morgan in the second half of the season and he pips Frazer to the post for me.

I think Lallana has been great and so has Richardson (8 assists).

SKD for me, just for his superb display away at Elland Road, how important are those crucial 3 points looking now?

Hooiveld for me hands down. I get more worried if Jos is injured whan any other player (even Lambert)
Without Lambert we have Sharp to score goals
Without Lallana we have players that can do a job out there.
Without Jos we only have one decent CB to replace him but he is young and wouldn't be able to take the pressure of this run in.

Popped over to that thread to check. Much wider selection which incidentally, included Lambert [note title of this thread SF4L], but I also noticed sharpshooter's comment about Schneiderlin's contribution to the team.

Don't think we really missed him against Palace. Captain Hammond was superb.
