The end of another month has come, therefore time to choose the player of the month. Previous winners: August: 1. McCormack 2. Austin/Pearce tied September: 1. Austin 2. McCormack 3. Wootton Well only 6 points picked up from the month out of a possible 12, still an improvement from last month though. Does make you wonder how we are 10th in the league with just 9 points picked up from the last 2 months. Still it was an improvement with us winning both home games but losing both away, does confirm my view that we aren't that bad at the moment just terrible away form is holding us back. Anyway here are the results of the month: Leeds 2 - 1 Bournemouth Derby 3 - 1 Leeds Leeds 4 - 0 Birmingham Huddersfield 3 - 2 Leeds At least we are scoring goals now though with a total of 9 goals in the month, that was previously our big downfall. Personally I'm going to go with Mowatt this month, his emergence has been spectacular and every time I have seen him he has been so composed even when in tight situations, really is showing that our academy are producing some good stuff again. Other favourites I'd imagine would be Smith being our topscorer from the month on 3, Austin and McCormack having been our most consistent performer all season imo.
I think, because of his work rate, passion and his consistency Austin deserves it. Smiths had two good gamers (both starts). Mowatts great, but we're all pushing him cos of his age, cos cos he's the best player. Has to be Austin
Strange things happening with this poll, yes Austin should be well up there but only got 1 vote, I voted for Smith on the back of 2 games when Austin has been the man every game. Young Alex in the lead because we all love our kids coming through, and Byrom gets in but has only played a couple of games. So will we see a proper result or wil it reflect our hearts and not our heads.
Doc, I'll be honest, I don't think I am voting for Mowatt because I believe he has been our best player and not because of him coming through our academy. I think Austin is starting to become slightly overrated since his promotion to captain. Smith has played well but only in 2 games, thats why I didn't vote for him.
